February 17th Huntington Beach turns 100. I was reading Westway magazine and they, have a nice article by Chris Epting about the upcoming Centennial year. The day the city was incorporated was February 17th, 1909
There are lots of events planned for the celebration. Starting January 30th with a Centennial Ball, which is black tie and $200 per person. On February 17 there will be a ceremony at the Pier Plaza. The annual Fourth of July parade will have a Centennial theme. The month of September will be full of fun Surf related events including a Golden Bear Reunion (before it was closed because of the downtown remodel it was one of the hottest rock and surfing music club in southern California. In December, Bella Terra open air Mall will be having a Centennial Holiday Party.
I am looking forward to the next year. I am sure there are going to be great time and memories. The Golden Bear Reunion is going to be the Hot ticket I think. I going to get my tickets early. See you at the Beach.
