The Charlotte Business Journal reports that the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, part of the North Carolina University system, is opening up its ticketing program to the public.

They are selling personal seat licenses to people who want to see their school play football in 2013.

Football is one of the things that UNCC lacked. The school, which was once known as Charlotte College, is charlotte's largest university by far. But it is not the only university in the state.

The expansion into football is a huge undertaking for the University. It is also a huge potential money maker. With 23,000 students, it would have a huge fan base to start with. All those students means a ton of alumni.

It also carries considerable risk because it costs a lot of money to get a football team and everything it takes to get it going. One thing it will mean is that it will either have add a bunch of women's sports or cut men's sports because football teams are so huge. There are about a million football players on each team.

The other thing they have to do is build a giant stadium. Real estate is desireable in university city, but I'm sure they can find a spot for it.
