Carolina Duke Game in Charlotte NC

It has come and gone. I'm talking about the first of two Carolina-Duke games this year. Each year, ESPN goes overboard to bring us a basketball game between two schools that really, really dislike each other.

This year's game saw the seniors of carolina sweep the Blue devils at their home stadium for the fourth year in a row. Carolina also scored more than 100 points on Duke, which is a feat nobody has acomplished in quite some time.

This year's matchup was particularly strained because it is Tyler Hansbrough's last year playing at Chapel Hill and because both teams are ranked in the top ten teams in the NCAA. Carolina is ranked as number three in many polls and duke is ranked as number five or six, depending on who you trust.

The game was hard fought and saw Tyler Hansbrough take another elbow to the face from a Duke player. It was definitely less bloody and disgusting than the last one though.

Carolina ended up winning the contest after trailing at the half and making a comback in the second half.

I'm sure there were tons of bars and restaurants in the Charlotte Area that were putting on specials and making an event out of it. North Carolina is a basketball state.
