I am kind of bored today!!!! Did they not say the stimulus package would generate business?

Or am I being to quick to judge? (Ha)

A tax credit of up to $8,000 is now available for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009. Unlike the tax credit enacted in 2008, the new credit does not have to be repaid. The tax credit is equal to 10 percent of the home's purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000. Single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000 qualify for the full tax credit.

If you tax liability for federal income tax is $7,000 and had tax withholding of $5,000 for the year, then without the tax credit the taxpayer would owe the IRS $2,000 on April 15th. Suppose now that the taxpayer qualified for the $8,000 home buyer tax credit. As a result, the taxpayer would receive a check for $6,000 ($8,000 minus the $2,000 owed).

I think the fact that the buyers will not have to pay back the Tax Credit is a very good thing. Now the problem is to get enough people to know about the credit that it will make a difference.

How are you guys going to get the word out?
