Two 15-year-old Geneva girls missing since Wednesday were found safe about 1 a.m. Monday, Geneva police reported.

One of the girls was brought in by "a concerned citizen" who knew the teenager and was able to persuade her to be taken to the Police Department, said Geneva Police Cmdr. Eric Passarelli. Police found the other girl at a St. Charles home, Passarelli said.

Authorities returned both girls to their families, said Passarelli, who added that the teenagers have not told authorities details of their unaccounted time away from home. Police are determining whether to file criminal charges, Passarelli said.  Thjis is all according to the Chicaog Tribune.  Obviously, it looks like a runaway situation, but at least it isn't something more tragic.

Earlier this week, I wrote a post:  The following was the post.  I never do these sort of posts, but since stuff like this never happens, there's fear that kidnapping or something worse happened to these two girls.  Relief exists for their families.  But I'm sure that there are a myriad of questions that remain unanswered.  Here's my prior post:

 Missing Child in Geneva (edit/delete)

I never do this, but since it never happens our here in the Fox Valley.  Something like this is every parent's nightmare.  I don't know the circumstances, runaway, kidnapping, just a mistake of human error.. As of this point I'm not sure, but.....please take note

Hi Larry,

What good news!

Your comment about I never do this, but since it never happens our here"... I feel the same way about my own community, yet it can and does happen anywhere. That's probably what got your attention in the first place.

More importantly, they are found and are safe regardless of the situation. For me it's a matter of taking the time to care about one another. So thank you for taking the time and caring. IMHO, the world would be a better place is we all do the same.

If they did run away I would hug them and hold them tight. Then I would whoop their asses for making me worry.

Larry:  This is such a dangerous time for a girl this age, or any age, to be missing.  I am sure the whole community is thankful she has been found and is safe. Thanks for sharing.

I can barely imagine what her parents have been going through while she was missing.  The loss of a child is one of the biggest tragedies a family can have.
