As a diverse company, we take great pride of celebrating all cultures and our goal is not to be controversial or provide opinion, etc. .........even though that's the spirit of Blogging. Our basic our aim, in particular with our themes of highlighting various cultures is to share SOLID KNOWLEDGE that hopefully will aid your quest of learning something that perhaps you never knew, or reminding you of things you may have forgotten, but more important get you to think and engage.

Black History Month

Anyone familar with Dred Scott?

While most acknowledge Africans in America started organizing labor to help build the country, otherwise known as Slavery, the issue reached a high point with the Dred Scott Case, which challenged America that All men were equal.  The result of the case........known as the 3/5's compromise essentially defined Slaves such as Scott as Three - Fifth's of a Man.  Throughout the years this case is taught in most schools and universities as a primary benchmark of the racial divide in America.

DRED SCOTT

I think the greatest moment in Black history will be when the term black or afro is not used by blacks to differentiate themselves.

Happy listing and selling!

Heath - thanks for taking time and leaving your comments.

Black or afro is not used by (just) blacks.  We know people of ALL enthicities and cultures who use the term in a postive vien to properly "describe."  Again, the spirit of our Blog is to provide information and get people to think (out of the box)........if they so desire!!!

Cheers!

if we have a black history month, why cannot we have a white history month. oh...i forgot. that would be considered racist. we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves. this means those who think they are repressed. i am white. i do not qualify for 1/3 of the programs to help people in the u.s.. aid, school funding, welfare, or anything else on those lines. get over yourselves and move on. if you can do that, than i wil get over my bitching. i grew up in low income housing in los angeles. i was a minority being white. i did not complain, i adapted. so get on with life.. shut up!
