By
Real Estate Agent with Sherri C Parker & Associates, Realtors, LLC

Hi,

I am new to blogging and really don't know where to start - can anyone give me a hint.

Citrus County, Florida is my area and really a great place to live.

Thanks

Welcome Patti, Most people here were new to blogging when they got here, so feel at ease!  Do a search for the FAQ group...Go to Groups at the top of the page, then search for FAQ...In that group, most of your questions will be answered. Remember, you can always save your post as a draft and not publish it until you like the way it looks. Start by introducing yourself, then write about what you know, your area, your expertise, etc. Thats really the basis of blogging. All the other things, widgets, cute signatures, what to say and not to say, will all come with time. Good luck

I suggest you read some other blogs, see what groups they are members of and start joining some groups.  On your blog write about things you are interested in and think would be interesting or informative to others.  Write about your experiences.  When you post the blog make sure to include it in five of your groups, so you get more exposure.  (we are limited to posting to five per post)

Comment on other peoples blog posts and they will comment on yours in return.

When people do comment on your post, make sure you respond to them by commenting.  You will develop relationships this way.

When you find people whose blog interests you, subscribe to it.  Every morning I go to my list of subscribers (click "blogs" on the bar across the top) and check out their most recent post.

Hope this helps!

I Have only been on AR since the end of January and loving every minute.  I agree totally with Sharon from NH, read blogs, get to know what interests others are writing about and comment when you find a blog of interest.

Join some grpups, subscribe to groups and comment you will see your points increase and it can excite you to keep getting more points. I went from the last page in my state to page one 5 from the bottom

The best advise that I can offer Patti, would be to post useful, local information based on your target market area.

As a side note, don't get discouraged if you receive little to no response to your blog.  It could be that although it's well-written, and/or interesting, sometimes people are reading so much great information, responding gets overlooked.  So it can be no reflection on you!

This is a fabulous network - great people - great informatin and sharing.

Welcome to the AR!

Write about what you enjoy and are passionate about.  It's a lot easier that way and join lots of groups.  I just joined yesterday and am already addicted.

Welcome Patti!  I'll tell you that I had never posted a single blog in my life (or even been to a blogging site) until about three weeks ago when I joined Active Rain.  Since then, I've done over thirty of them.  Just write about something that interests you or that's on your mind.  Or, maybe post a question about something you need advice with.  It's really that simple.  Good luck, and enjoy!
