With two grandkids attending public schools in Flagler County, I was thrilled to learn that ALL public schools in the district earned an A from the State's DOE. 
Flagler County is the only county in the State of Florida to receive all As, and I am extremely proud of the giant leaps they had made over the last year. Three out of 9 public schools in the district are only a few years old - so it can't have been easy.
Additionally, my youngest grandchild told me that his elementary school, Rymfire Elementary, just got an awesome award from the Apple Corporation (all the schools in the district use Macs). He tells me his is one of ONLY 15 schools in the entire Country to have received this prestigious award.
So the kids are proud, the teachers are thrilled, and I am just hoping this motivates my oldest grand-baby to really study for his SATs, so he can get into any college he wants, and for the little one - to enjoy being a kid, for now. He was just recommended for the gifted program, so his next year of school just might get a bit more difficult - but he loves a good challenge.
