Not your average house "Flipper"

Remember the old TV show, Flipper?  That's what I first thought of when I saw these cool lookin' shrubs at this house.  Also notice the little palm trees.  I've never quite seen anything like this before, especially in Northwest Ohio.  Kinda' neat, huh?  I thought so.  Until I got out of my warm vehicle, into the frigid cold weather to take the picture.  My feelings quickly changed from beaches, oceans, and wonderful, warm sunshine to snow & cold.... Man, I hope spring gets here soon.  Maybe this cold, snowy weather is making me start to hallucinate by seeing dolphin and palm tree shaped bushes.  If you're reading this from a warm, sunny locale, please send some of it this way... I'll pay for the shipping  ( :

Hi Joshua, too funny. I grew up in Australia and Flipper was a huge part of my after school TV watching. This really takes the cake doesn't it?

Michelle:  I couldn't believe that Flipper was on from '67 to '70!  I wasn't even born yet.  Popular re-run series, I guess.  Anyway, thanks for commenting and I hope your 2009 is serving you well so far.

Joshua, cool fish.  Not everyday you see dolphins in the front yard in Ohio.

Jack:  Or palm trees, for that matter.  Too bad I wasn't seeing the real thing from my beachfront condo.  Thanks for stopping by.

Did not know that you were allowed to have exotic animals! Is a permit required?

Hey, Joshua.

I can't believe you haven't seen topiary before. You need to get down South and broaden your cultural exposure -- LOL. We have lots of it here in San Diego.

Here's one of the topiary elephants at the San Diego Zoo.

Hey, Joshua.

I have some more pictures of some pretty interesting topiary at the Quail Botanical Gardens here. I'll be posting them sometime soon, either at my marketing & business blog or my home inspector blog.
