Are First Time Buyers the Cure to an Ailing Market?

Everyone has his or solution to fixing the various issues affecting the South Florida homes market. None have managed to push home sales towards an increase (at least not yet) which has lead many to believe that the savior of South Florida homes lies in none other than the first time homebuyer.

The current situation does cater heavily to first time buyers of South Florida homes. Prices have dropped, mortgage rates are low, and the government has thrown in several incentives to encourage buying activity, yet activity remains largely stagnant. What’s going on then?

Real estate analysts suggest that besides the current incentives that have already been put in place, the market needs to return to the days when buyers negotiated solely on price. Nowadays sellers are not only negotiating on price but also throwing in extras like a home inspection to entice buyers into a sale. Does this seem like a near surefire method of spurring buying activity once again?
