Hey, hey from Chicago folks! Perhaps, spring is indeed coming - a tease of plus-70 degrees this week, with more to come next week!
Can hardly wait!
Facebook! My Space! LinkedIn! Twitter! Plaxo! And so on . . .
Are you on them? Of course you are!
You've made quasi-secure contact with your old college chums. High school buds, perhaps - guys now with pot bellys and balding heads, ladies who, well, look almost exactly as they did all those years ago!
Old teachers - co-workers all but forgotten. Joined some groups, passed some pokes, likes, drinks, Blue Cove Requests, and more.
Maybe even an old flame or two - yes? (We won't tell anyone - what happens on Active Rain, stays on Active Rain, you know!)
But have you actually converted any BUSINESS from your new-found social networking connections?
You know, I am not counting Active Rain Blogging - which some consider social networking. I am talking about the other sites - developed originally for young people to connect, but now becoming increasingly important as a Business Tool.
I joined the big social networking sites strictly for business - but developed the old connections as a bonus. And, in my Real Estate Business, it seems many of my old friends have a need for a New Fashioned Realtor - even one that was alive and kicking when Richard Nixon was President of the United States (really dating myself here - yes?)
So far, for our Real Estate Team in Chicago - three promising buyer leads, one listing lead, from old friends and colleagues - from Facebook and Twitter. All came since we ramped up our Social Networking participation at the urging of our Business Success Coach last fall.
Nothing has closed yet, but it's looking promising!
What about you? Any actual business benefit, and generated revenue, from your Social Networking activity?
Inquiring Bloggers need to know! Please share!
