crazy in Powell... the window panel? Door panel? ... sign on glass says "Evaluation Center for Disturbed Women"
A sign for "Asylum For the Insane" for sale in an antique store in Powell. The frame looks older but the lettering on the glass looks pretty darn fresh.... Antique? Or something made up to look old? Graceland Shopping Center Today at Graceland Shopping Center there is a Kroger Marketplace Target Two fitness centers Qdoba Applebees Sears Appliance & Hardware OfficeMax and way, way more... A home owner near Graceland Shopping Center said of the shopping area earlier this decade: "Graceland Shopping Center had an 80% vacancy rate and was in disrepair. A Columbus Dispatch article today says "Worthington Mall to be Sold" The Dispatch article written by Marla Matzer Rose says there is a buyer for the local mall and it is a local person. The Columbus Dispatch says: "Local developer Tom Carter and Morris Capital Partners of Texas announced a plan yesterday to buy the mall." It sounds like the mall originally built in 1974 is going to be opened up... it was enclosed at some point. Carter is quoted about the past... I was in the Polaris area and saw signs for 50% to 90% off so I had to go check it out... Catalog Clearing House is in the old Circuit City store building at Polaris... Today is their Grand Opening. Their webpage Catalog Clearing House complete with a YouTube video about what they are. The store was kind of like a big flea market except it is all new merchandise. The Catalog Clearing house webpage ( gives their hours, shows where they are (map) and promises new merchandise daily.

The foreclosure on the Worthington Square Mall was in December 2008 I believe. I visited the mall once at Christmas time, the first time I had gone over since August 2008. The Victoria Secret Store and The Bath and Body Works store were noticeably gone since I visited the mall in late summer. An article in Business First Columbus last Friday said 19 of the 43 mall spots are filled, about 50 percent. .. reading about the Worthington Square Mall a couple of weeks ago in another local publication I remarked that 50 percent seemed high to me, it seemed like … (0 comments)

Designer Shoe Warehouse is based in Central Ohio. There are three stores in Columbus, Northwest (Filene's Basement and DSW combined) Easton and Polaris. I have heard the Polaris DSW store is the largest DSW store in the country. Truth or fiction? Who cares! It's minutes away from me. Not that I am a big shoe buyer. I can appreciate a large selection of shoes though.
