spicewood tx: Platinum Top 50 - The Reserve at Lake Travis - Spicewood TX - 06/26/12 12:53 AM
Last week, I attended a very exclusive gathering. All the Platinum Top 50 Realtor Finalists were invited out to The Reserve at Lake Travis for a memorable night. They flew in fresh Hawaiian leis that morning. It was very nice.

The Reserve at Lake Travis is a secluded community in Spicewood TX that offers a lot of different things for different people. They have an Equestrian Center for boarding your horses. They have a Lazy River pool area. They have a Marina to dock your boat. They have acreage lots in addition to basic lots. They have villas if you … (6 comments)

spicewood tx: Spicewood TX Homes for Sale - Sellers Know Best - 09/23/09 03:31 AM
Why did I just walk away from another listing for Spicewood TX Homes for Sale?  Because the seller knows more than me!  How can I educate someone who won't listen because he thinks he already knows it all. How does he know it all?  Because he's been on the market for 2 years!  Yes, since 2007, he's been trying to sell his house.  He's gone through 5 Realtors already.  It might be six, but I'm not wasting time to look his property up again. This round, he met with me and another agent.  I received the call from Mrs. Seller yesterday … (15 comments)

spicewood tx: Spicewood TX Real Estate- Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?? - 09/21/09 03:10 AM
Spicewood TX Real Estate is unique with houses next to farms. I was leaving a listing appointment in Spicewood TX on Saturday afternoon.  I pulled out of their driveway, turned right, and almost immediately had to slam on my breaks... Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

The old answer is still correct, to get to the other side.  There was no rhyme or reason for these chickens and roosters and hens and GOATS to be out roaming around.  However, they felt as soon as I pulled up, they had this urge to get to the other side.

spicewood tx: Angel's Icehouse Restaurant in Spicewood TX - 08/06/09 01:57 AM
Angel's Icehouse Restaurant in Spicewood, TX is a great family restaurant.

Many restaurants claim to be "family" restaurants, so what makes Angel's Icehouse different?  They are a full service, regular restaurant, but also have a playscape area for the kids to play.  Many fast food restaurants have play equipment, but you don't expect to see it at a "regular" restaurant.

They also have an entire outdoor entertainment area for live music, or just to have large gatherings.  Picnic tables everywhere that can be moved around to accommodate the size of your group.

spicewood tx: RO's Outpost BBQ in Spicewood TX- Best Pie for 8 Years Running - 07/31/09 07:31 AM
R.O's Outpost B.B.Q has won several awards over the years, and also comes with a side of a romantic story.  I met with the owners this afternoon, and I'll start with the story.

Randy and Kathy Osban met while working at Clark's Outpost BBQ in Tioga, TX some 27 years ago.  They worked there for 12 years.  Almost 14 years ago, they were in the Texas Hill Country on vacation, having lunch at a restaurant and asked what happened to the BBQ place next door.
The owner happened to be around and asked if they wanted to see it, and they did.  … (5 comments)

spicewood tx: Lakeway TX Connects to Spicewood TX, Road Opening Delayed - 05/15/09 04:25 AM

A new street is opening that will connect Lakeway, TX to Spicewood, TX.  The initial grand opening was slotted for May 2009, but they are a couple of months behind, but for those thinking Spicewood might be too far of a drive for you, I wanted you to know about this short-cut being created!
Currently, if you need to get to Spicewood, you have to drive all the way down 620 until it deadends into 71, hang a right, and go 9 miles before you reach the first Spicewood community.
Now, instead of driving past all those schools and their school zones, … (0 comments)

spicewood tx: The Topsy Turvey Tomato Hanging Plant - 05/04/09 06:11 AM
For years, I've tried to grow tomatoes in my backyard.  I don't have much of a green thumb for this... One y ear, I went through 7-8 different plants as they all kept dying on me.
This year, new house, new method! New way of thinking of things!
Instead of planting tomatoes, I decided to buy the Topsy Turvy.  Have you heard of this?  Basically, you hang this mini greenhouse outside and put the plant in upside down so it hangs.

I planted it last night. There are already two small tomatoes ready to grow big and strong.

spicewood tx: Do Neighbors not Trust Neighbors for a Referral? - 05/04/09 03:18 AM
I was driving around yesterday, killing timewaiting for a baby shower, and one thing I noticed was a lot of roofer signs in people's yards.  Back at the end of March, there was a huge hail storm, as I posted pictures here.
With the hail storm, came lots of calls to insurance companies, which in turn, created lots of calls to roofing companies.  Most roofs look like this:

While some roofs look like this:

Driving around yesterday, there had to be over 100 different company signs.  I don't recall seeing two of the same sign in any one neighborhood.  … (7 comments)

This blog is to help educate Buyers, Sellers and even other Realtors across the country.  Each market is different and the way Real Estate is done is different.  Austin Real Estate is completely different than Dallas, California and Florida and everywhere else in between.  Some times there will be other things besides real estate as I like to rant and rave as much as the next!!  Come back often!
