Schaumburg's very own Awaking Muse is part of the Metropolitan Planning Council's "Secret Corner of Chicagoland" photo contest. With 25 entries up for consideration, here's your chance to vote.
One vote per person is allowed through Friday, September 10. A fan favorite will be selected through online votes received, and three additional winners will be selected by a panel of "Placemaking experts."
Winners will be announced on Friday, September 17 and be featured in an exclusive Chicago Architecture Foundation tour this fall.

Towne Place is a fairly large community built by Lexington Builders located northeast of the intersection of Schaumburg and Barrington Roads behind the Kohls and Lowe’s Shopping Center. A great mix of open areas, landscaping and recreation are available here. 2009 Schaumburg Township Assessment Information (Due and payable in 2010) This summer the Cook County Board passed new assessment levels on the entire county. Residential went from 16% to 10%; Commercial from 38% to 25%; and Industrial from 36% to 25%. Schaumburg Aviation Celebration These are the pictures for the 2009 event held on August 29th and 30th at the Schaumburg Regional Airport. A good time was had by all and there were lots of rides given to those who wanted to visit the great blue yonder by the Windy City Flyers.In case you didn't know, all the news helicopters for all the large Chicago TV stations are based at the Schaumburg Airport. Mayor Al Larson's Aviation Celebration Soar into the northwest suburban skies on August 29 and 30 at the 3rd Annual Mayor Al Larson's Aviation Celebration. Plan to spend time at the Schaumburg Regional Airport for what promises to be the biggest and best event yet.
Take a ride in an airplane with Windy City Flyers, the flight school based at Schaumburg Regional Airport.
