ipiccy: Having Fun While Using iPiccy as a Photo Editing Tool - 08/05/19 01:16 AM

When I have quiet moments, I often enjoy a little fun while experimenting with iPiccy, as a photo-editing tool.
The more I work with this application, the more I enjoy what it has to offer.
With the following photo of the California Coastline, I played with the “textures” and “lights” realms.
IPiccy provides a variety of selections when it comes to these, and it’s great fun to find those which work best with pictures you are editing.
And, it’s FREE!

ipiccy: Using iPiccy to Edit my Before Picture to an After! - 05/18/17 09:30 PM
While reading a recent Dick Greenberg’s blog, he challenged fellow bloggers in the ActiveRain community to present “before” and “after” pictures, while using the amazing array of photo editing tools available to photographers today.
Dick was right to mention that digital shutterbugs today, working in the digital realm, have many more options and advantages over photographers in the past, who worked with film.  Add to it, the large variety of free on-line photo editing tools, and editing today can feed the imagination, and tap into creativity.
In the real estate realm, we can be easily enticed into overdoing these editing tools to puff listing … (23 comments)

ipiccy: Making What is New Old Again! - 08/25/14 10:31 AM
I was more than intrigued with what I found on William Johnson’s Blog titled, “Old U.S. Naval Bi-Plane”
William is a wonderful photographer, who also has the capability to artfully edit photos to provide a different feel.
The photos he posted yesterday were two versions of the same photo.  His edited version of an old U.S. Naval bi-plane, made it difficult to tell the photo wasn’t from an old weathered news story, or post card.  Wonderful stuff!  This afternoon, while going through a batch of photos I've taken in recent years, I found this picture taken in Ione, California, at the … (15 comments)

ipiccy: Was The Photo Taken Back in the Day – Or Was it Taken Yesterday? - 06/02/13 12:36 PM
Was The Photo Taken Back in the Day – Or Was it Taken Yesterday?

The above photo was edited using the FREE on-line photo editing tools available at iPiccy.com.   In addition to applying sepia tone, and some contrast, I selected the “Photo Effects” button and chose the “Old Photo” effect from the “Textures” area.
The original picture was taken in the historic California Gold Rush town of Columbia, California.

I take pictures for the purpose of remembering fond times.  I do not impose copyright restrictions on this photo, so you may feel free to use, or distribute as you wish.  However, … (18 comments)

ipiccy: A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That - 03/12/13 02:54 PM

As mentioned before, several of the free on-line photo editors offer a number of entertaining and creative possibilities for enhancing any pictures we work with.
Recently, I blogged about enhancements to Ribbet’s free editing application.  Ribbet added a great little eraser tool, which allows cool things to happen while working with layers.  An example can be seen by visiting, “New Enhancements to Ribbet Free On-line Photo Editing Tool.”
This evening I was playing with another popular photo editor, iPiccy.  In iPiccy, you are not only able to do basic edits, like resizing, color change, embossing, sharpening, etc.  You can also apply HDR and … (19 comments)

I’m having a rare pleasantly quiet weekend, with time to experiment with iPiccy, as a photo-editing tool.

ipiccy: A Marriage of Pixels and Photo Editing Tools and Apps - 12/08/12 10:53 AM
The photography of today most certainly isn’t the experience it was when I was a kid shuffling around with a little Kodak Baby Brownie.   We didn’t know what a pixel was, back then.  In today’s world of digital cameras coupled with available editing tools and applications, we are capable of tapping realms not previously seen.
Recently, William Johnson presented a blog tutorial on the use of “Experiemental High Range Imaging or HDR” effect, while using iPiccy, an on-line photo editing application.  This afternoon, I took a little re-adventure, while editing some pictures taken while on a trip along Utah's Highway 12, a couple years … (21 comments)

ipiccy: Interesting and Fun Photo Effects Available with On-Line Photo Editors - 09/13/12 11:30 AM
I decided to take a little break this afternoon while editing a few photos.  During the breather, I meandered off to see what other ActiveRainers were up to.  William Johnson has posted a neat example of photo editing effects, using available photo editing tools.  There are several.  Both iPiccy and Ribbet provide many features found in Picnik, an application used by many before it went away earlier this year.
I suggest you visit William’s blog titled, “What Happens When You Add a Vintage Look and Frame to a New Photo.”
What follows here, is an example of what can be accomplished.  I used … (20 comments)
