minot public library: Minot Friends of the Library Book Sale

Today and tomorrow, September 15th & 16th, the "Friends of the Library" are having a book sale at the Minot Public Library. This would be a great time to stock up for your winter reading and videos. Everything is sold by good will offering. In addition to books and videos there are CD's, DVD's, games and puzzles.
I was there early this morning and picked up a several books and videos. I am most looking forward to watching my Simpsons and Alfred Hitchcock videos. … (10 comments)

If you have ever strolled along the walking path of Minot's Oak Park you surely have seen the story boards along the way. The story boards are maintained by The Minot Public Library and typically have a pictorial story by Dr. Seuss or another popular artist. The storyboards have been in place for many years and well maintained. They have never featured a local author/illustrator... until NOW!

In today's "To Do" column of the Minot Daily News I noticed a group called POP, Publish Or Parish, was meeting this afternoon. I thought my son Timmothy may want to join me to see what it's all about. I've been enjoying writing as a blogger and Timmothy is already a published author at the age of 17 so it seemed like a good fit for us. I've probably blogged more about the Minot Public Library more than any other topic. There is good reason for it, the Minot Public Library has a lot to offer and the people who run it are GREAT people. Our family is very reliant on the library for our entertainment. I'm the only non-reader in the family but I still get books on Real Estate and building plans to study, not to mention the videos I watch with my daughter. Tonight, August 10th 2016, was the 28th Annual Great Tomato Festival in Minot ND. The Great Tomato Festival is a benefit event for the Minot Public Library, the Taube Museum of Art, and the Minot Symphony Orchestra. The event keeps growing and this year attendance was well over 1,000. The Minot Public Library has over 100 books just on house plans! This only scratches the surface of books related to remodeling and other home improvement or home repair books. It's time for the Minot ND Friends Of The Library Spring BOOK SALE! I love these sales at our public library. There are many books, art objects, movies, and various types of music media donated to the library book sale along with thousands of retired books and referance resources. I often pick up referance materials that would cost me hundreds of dollars for just a buck or two because they are last year editions. It's well worth the $2.00 to go to the pre-sale.
