minot: My Blogging Bunny 2018 - 06/24/18 06:34 PM

This is the 2nd year for this rabbit in our yard. I believe it was born under our shed last year and she gave birth to a little one early this spring who has already moved on a couple of houses down. She is a little skittish but let's me get with-in about 10' of her. Often, when I'm blogging on the deck she will come out from under the shed and come to the deck (but not on it) and dine near the bottom of the steps.

They both showed up for a reunion tonight but not at the same time.

minot: Minot's Monday has plenty to offer the Family. - 06/24/18 04:41 PM

If you have seen my posts over the years on the Scandinavian Heritage Park you know this is a lovely walk. It's a small park so I imagine they may circle it a few times but what a great place to socialize.
I love theatre (but not drama in the work place) so there is a good chance you will see me this Monday evening at the MSU Theatre for The Bridges of Madison County.
Over at www.VisitMinot.org I found several things but if you are the parent of a young girl maybe it's time to introduce her to Girl Scouts. They are meeting … (12 comments)

06/24/2018
Available Condos & Town homes in Minot ND.
There are currently 34 Condominiums and 31 Townhomes for a total of 65 units available in Minot ND. They range in price from $76,900 to $359,900. The average listing price is $199,250 (a drop of almost $10,000 over the last two weeks). The average days on market is 103.

Believe it or not I have to sort through all the condo and townhome listings to be sure they are listed correctly for this report. They seldom are. The point being some Realtors have no idea what the difference is between a condo and a townhome. … (2 comments)

minot: What Strikes Fear into the Hearts of Men? - 06/23/18 07:28 PM

This little nest greeted me earlier this week at one of the model homes I represent.
I hate wasps! Yes, they strike fear in my heart.
It seems like I have to deal with wasps at least once a year... and here was my 1st opportunity in 2018.
Three choices came to mind. #1) When I first saw it I thought why not knock it down with a broom... common sense kicked in and I dismissed plan #1.
#2) Buy some wasp spray for a couple of bucks at Menards, stand a safe 20' away and get it over with in about a minute.
#3) Use the … (16 comments)

minot: TGIF now What To Do here in Minot Friday Night - 06/21/18 07:06 PM

The Mid Summer Night celebration at the Scandinavian Heritage Park sounds like a great choice to me. Sloppy Joes, chips, and water will be served for a nominal fee ($5.00). Entertainment will include live music, flag ceremony, bonfire, and the showing of the movie, Leap!
It's the Summer Kick Off for The Magic City International Dragway.
You all know how much I love art so maybe I'll be seeing you at the Taube Art Museum for their Explore the World of 3D Art.
Thanks again to The Minot Daily News (you really should subscribe) and to www.VisitMinot.org .

minot: What's Up Wednesday the 20th in Minot ND - 06/19/18 01:22 PM

What a great day to be a kid in Minot ND! Most of the published events are for the kids and they are also library/reading centered.
Taking a look at the www.VisitMinot.org website a couple events missed by the Minot Daily News include:
Margie's Art Glass Studio has open studio time, Be creative, unplug and enjoy some studio time. Chose a project and have a drink from the full service coffee bar.
The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs keep packing them into Corbett Field and before they play tonight you can bring the kids to the Minot Public Library to meet and read with them. After reading to … (6 comments)

minot: What Does Every Mansion Need - 06/18/18 07:28 PM

I thought I saw something odd. Maybe not. While on my fathers day bicycle ride (my kids were trying to kill me with exercise). I thought I'd take this picture of one of the most expenses homes in the area... or to be more accurate the yard art.

Two colorful 4 foot tall metel chickens in the yard. OK, so I thought it was odd. In preparing for this post I Googled large metel yard art.
Okay. 12 out of 14 pictures that came up had colorful chickens. I guess what I thought was odd isn't so odd after all.

minot: And I Thought Doing 10 Chin-Ups was a Challenge! - 06/17/18 02:51 PM

While the two guys on the right are my body doubles for when I make my videos for Active Rain (yeah right) I now struggle to do 10 chin-ups these days.
The June 2018 challenge has been just about an equal challenge for me.
Not because I'm out of shape but because the posts I chose to whip into shape from 10 years ago were terribly out of shape. Pardon me for saying so but I had to "Whip it Good".
The challenge allowed us to make a minor change and call it good. Well NOT good enough for Robert Leland Timm! For each of the … (15 comments)

minot: Events & a Special Fundraiser for Saturday, Please Help! - 06/15/18 12:03 PM

First, foremost and not on the list is a fund raiser for Haley Sundsbak's family. Haley (10 years old) and a friend were swimming when a run away jet ski struck them and killed Haley last week. It is speculated that the jet ski operator did not have the safety kill switch around their wrist so when he/she fell off of the jet ski it just ran on it's own striking the girls and killing 10 year old Haley. All 4 of the Marketplace Foods stores will be selling hot dogs with 100% of the proceeds going to Haley's family.
Now having … (6 comments)

minot: TGIF in Minot, so how are we going to Celebrate Friday 06/15/2018? - 06/14/18 08:18 AM

How could you top something called "Ribfest"? This is a BIG event and that is why it's held at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Starting at 11:00 AM and running all the way to 9:30 PM. For only $5.00 you can sit down and eat for 10-1/2 hours!
Financial Peace University may not sound all that exciting for a Friday evening BUT you will love the benefits of this knowledge for years and years to come. The Pursuit is a super active local church located in the old Harley Davidson shop on 20th Ave SE.
I just may take in the T-Shirt Design … (11 comments)

minot: The Action does NOT Slow Down for Thursday in Minot - 06/13/18 08:33 AM

1st and foremost please do not forget that Thursday is Flag Day so display our flag proudly tomorrow.
Hitting upon the events that are not weekly you all know how I love Mexican food, theater, and kids so the Dine to donate event at Paradiso for the Kids Theater is absolutely on my list for tomorrow.
That being said I will point out that "Baby Play" at the Library is not theater... it should be called Baby Play Time.
The Arts in the Park Concert will be Cool Beans and a second performance by The Vet Center.
Not listed to the right but on the … (12 comments)

minot: More than a Dozen things to do in Minot Wednesday 06/13/2018 - 06/12/18 09:15 AM

I see 3 library related events on todays list and I want to especially point out the teen movie at Ward County library being teens are usually the first to say "I'm bored".
Next I have to point out the car wash fundraiser being my kids will be there scrubbing away (or what ever they do). I'm sure I'll be bringing all the Timm vehicles over to be washed.
A few more items not on the Minot Daily News's list that I found on VisitMinot.org include:
Open Studio time at Margie's Stain Glass.
Dynamic Dino's as well as Fun Figure drawing classes at The Taube Art … (9 comments)

minot: Can there be To Much Fun? Check out Tuesday's Activities in Minot ND - 06/11/18 07:30 AM

WOW! What more can I say?
1st and foremost Get Out and Vote!
After voting I'm looking forward to the concert at the Oak Park Amphitheater by River Valley Brass (don't look for me in the 1st row... I don't need a hearing aid yet).
Another GREAT choice would be the MSU Summer Theater Opening Night BBQ. The opening show is Sister Act. Tickets are $20.00. Google for more information.
There are a couple events at the Minot Public Library you may wish to check out. I can never say enough about Minot's very innovative library staff and all the things they offer to the entire family.
On the … (15 comments)

minot: Mask Mania Monday and more in Minot June 11th 2018 - 06/10/18 09:31 AM

There are several familiar weekly events noted to the right so let me cover the ones that are not weekly and my favorite (by name) that is not noted.
Mask Mania Monday at The Taube Museum of Art from 1:00 - 3:00 PM for ages 10 and up (yes, that does include adults). Join Margaret and Charles Lee for this two day creative art class and make original plaster masks.
740th Missile Squadron Fundraiser at the Pizza Ranch. This is an easy one, just eat at the Pizza Ranch between 5:00 and 9:00 PM and a portion of your bill plus all tips go … (8 comments)
