It's not free and it's adults only BUT you will most likely find me at Bacon and Brew being I like both and it's less than 1,000 feet from my front door.
Arts in the Park is always a good time. Thursdays musical artists are The Tonedevil Brothers and the visual artist Candice Brekke with the theme "Eye Candy".
As you can see there are several Arts and Theater events going on. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

As you can see from the list to the left there is never a shortage of things for kids of all ages.
Let me plug "Smart Start" at the library. I can not emphasis enough what an important force the Minot Public Library was in my kids development, their love of reading, education, and adventure. Smart Start is for children ages 2 to 5 years old. If you want your child to be an "Achiever" and a success in school give them a smart start.

minot: My Blogging Bunny 2018

This is the 2nd year for this rabbit in our yard. I believe it was born under our shed last year and she gave birth to a little one early this spring who has already moved on a couple of houses down. She is a little skittish but let's me get with-in about 10' of her. Often, when I'm blogging on the deck she will come out from under the shed and come to the deck (but not on it) and dine near the bottom of the steps.
They both showed up for a reunion tonight but not at the same time.

If you have seen my posts over the years on the Scandinavian Heritage Park you know this is a lovely walk. It's a small park so I imagine they may circle it a few times but what a great place to socialize.
I love theatre (but not drama in the work place) so there is a good chance you will see me this Monday evening at the MSU Theatre for The Bridges of Madison County.

There are currently 34 Condominiums and 31 Townhomes for a total of 65 units available in Minot ND. They range in price from $76,900 to $359,900. The average listing price is $199,250 (a drop of almost $10,000 over the last two weeks). The average days on market is 103.
Believe it or not I have to sort through all the condo and townhome listings to be sure they are listed correctly for this report. They seldom are. The point being some Realtors have no idea what the difference is between a condo and a townhome. … (2 comments)

This little nest greeted me earlier this week at one of the model homes I represent.
I hate wasps! Yes, they strike fear in my heart.
It seems like I have to deal with wasps at least once a year... and here was my 1st opportunity in 2018.
Three choices came to mind. #1) When I first saw it I thought why not knock it down with a broom... common sense kicked in and I dismissed plan #1.
#2) Buy some wasp spray for a couple of bucks at Menards, stand a safe 20' away and get it over with in about a minute.

This week there were 12 homes sold (closed) in this very narrow category of stick built, single family homes located in the City limits of Minot. A look at the Red chart below shows there were 24 closings overall to include all properties in our MLS. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 107 compared to last weeks 75 days. Over all homes much slower and for slightly more money per square foot this week.

The Mid Summer Night celebration at the Scandinavian Heritage Park sounds like a great choice to me. Sloppy Joes, chips, and water will be served for a nominal fee ($5.00). Entertainment will include live music, flag ceremony, bonfire, and the showing of the movie, Leap!
It's the Summer Kick Off for The Magic City International Dragway.
You all know how much I love art so maybe I'll be seeing you at the Taube Art Museum for their Explore the World of 3D Art.

I thought I saw something odd. Maybe not. While on my fathers day bicycle ride (my kids were trying to kill me with exercise). I thought I'd take this picture of one of the most expenses homes in the area... or to be more accurate the yard art.
Two colorful 4 foot tall metel chickens in the yard. OK, so I thought it was odd. In preparing for this post I Googled large metel yard art.
Okay. 12 out of 14 pictures that came up had colorful chickens. I guess what I thought was odd isn't so odd after all.

While the two guys on the right are my body doubles for when I make my videos for Active Rain (yeah right) I now struggle to do 10 chin-ups these days.
The June 2018 challenge has been just about an equal challenge for me.
Not because I'm out of shape but because the posts I chose to whip into shape from 10 years ago were terribly out of shape. Pardon me for saying so but I had to "Whip it Good".

Saturday's rains canceled a lot of activities so Sunday you should have a 2nd chance at several of the events I reported yesterday.

First, foremost and not on the list is a fund raiser for Haley Sundsbak's family. Haley (10 years old) and a friend were swimming when a run away jet ski struck them and killed Haley last week. It is speculated that the jet ski operator did not have the safety kill switch around their wrist so when he/she fell off of the jet ski it just ran on it's own striking the girls and killing 10 year old Haley. All 4 of the Marketplace Foods stores will be selling hot dogs with 100% of the proceeds going to Haley's family.

How could you top something called "Ribfest"? This is a BIG event and that is why it's held at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Starting at 11:00 AM and running all the way to 9:30 PM. For only $5.00 you can sit down and eat for 10-1/2 hours!
Financial Peace University may not sound all that exciting for a Friday evening BUT you will love the benefits of this knowledge for years and years to come. The Pursuit is a super active local church located in the old Harley Davidson shop on 20th Ave SE.

1st and foremost please do not forget that Thursday is Flag Day so display our flag proudly tomorrow.
Hitting upon the events that are not weekly you all know how I love Mexican food, theater, and kids so the Dine to donate event at Paradiso for the Kids Theater is absolutely on my list for tomorrow.
That being said I will point out that "Baby Play" at the Library is not theater... it should be called Baby Play Time.
The Arts in the Park Concert will be Cool Beans and a second performance by The Vet Center.

I see 3 library related events on todays list and I want to especially point out the teen movie at Ward County library being teens are usually the first to say "I'm bored".
Next I have to point out the car wash fundraiser being my kids will be there scrubbing away (or what ever they do). I'm sure I'll be bringing all the Timm vehicles over to be washed.
