I couldn't convince my 20 year old son to go on a photo walk with me today even though it was a balmy 10 degrees and the sun was shinning. I just don't know what it is with kids today 😃 (I think you all know I think Timmothy is the absolute best). Instead of taking a walk we removed the screen to a backyard facing window and shot from there. This fellow was on the "squirrel gym". I'm a little early in taking garden pictures but I'm excited about some of the 1st blooms of season. Take a look. This is the first time I've been successful in planting my own hanging basket. Granted this one is not started from seed but the thing is the plants have more than doubled in size since I planted. Both the marigolds and the moss roses are doing well. As you can see the moss rose has actually bloomed. These baskets of Viola's are very beautiful and I can not take any credit for planting them but I did pick them out about a … (41 comments)

A Squirrel's Tail, by "Stubby" the Squirrel Hi, I'm Stubby. Regretfully I earned that name just yesterday. I live in the tree behind Bob's house. Most of the neighbors give me pizza and other good things. Not Bob! He makes me eat out of the bird feeder and if he catches me he scares me away. He also makes it really hard for me by hanging the bird feeder on a very skinny pole. This pole could hold two feeders but old cheapskate Bob only hangs one feeder on it. HEY TURKEY! Late yesterday afternoon my Bride and I were headed home from Walmart and as we drove by a very familiar spot both of us took notice. This spot is only about 6 blocks from our home and along one of Minot's many coulees. We both thought that in the last day or two a VERY industrious squirrel had built a multi-squirrel condominium complex. Hey! With the oil boom we have seen some crazy building trends and we thought maybe it caught on with the squirrels too. Upon closer inspection this is what I saw. There were 10 of them.

It's The Time Of Year To Feed The... SQUIRRELS! If you are new to "Bird Feeding" you will find this to be a familial scene once you set up your bird feeder. It might make you smile or it might make you mad to see this uninvited guest at your feeder.
