They have a huge selection of  17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century war reenacting equipment and supplies. Home Front General Store started in a small shop on York St, moved to a bigger location on Baltimore St, and is now in it's new home at 39 Queen St.

gettysburg borough: What is a Gettysburg Historic Home - 01/31/11 02:46 AM
What is a Gettysburg Historic HomeBeing a  Gettysburg Realtor and specializing Gettysburg historic homes I am often asked "What do specifically consider a Gettysburg historic home?"  The answer depends on really on how old a house you are looking for. Many of the homes here in Gettysburg are pre Civil War homes, however there are full neighborhoods such as Colt Park that were built in the 1950's. You may not consider a home built in the 1950's to be historic but many of todays young home buyers do, those my age may choose the term "nostalgic" home "historic" home. Either way … (3 comments)

gettysburg borough: Understand What you are Getting Into - 08/01/10 04:16 AM
Understand What you are Getting IntoLiving here in Gettysburg Pa can be fun, informative and yes a big pain in the butt. The chapel in the picture is causing a huge controversy here in Gettysburg. This building is built on a formerly useless rocky empty lot, a gentleman moved here from NH and erected a Civil War chapel, but it was a tent (temporary). During the winter the tent was destroyed and this is what was constructed in it's place. No big deal, one would think.
Problem, this is a permanent structure and the Gettysburg wants their pound of flesh, to … (12 comments)
