I had to share this letter to the President with you.  It is a letter written and addressed to the President of the United States and then published in the San Diego Daily Transcript by Alan Nevin, an economist and demographer, with MarketPointe Realty. 
The letter is entitled "President Obama: I Think You Have A Problem" and has some great points regarding challenges confronting President Obama's administration.  It is a great quick read, and I highly recommend it.

There has been a lot of talk lately about whether we are in a recesion, heading for a recession or might even avoid a recession.  We certainly have a weakening economy, especially in the real estate world, but I do not believe that we are in a recession. 
Recession Took a Detour
The Wall Street Journal posted an article on Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 entitled "Recession?  Not So Fast, Say Some."  It leads in with "A funny thing happened to the economy on its way to recession: It's taken a detour."
