Today is a day we honor all of the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces protecting the rights and freedoms we all enjoy and often take for granted. We need to honor those daily who continue to sacrifice both abroad and here at home.
I recently became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution tracing my father's side of the family back to a patriot, William Steen of South Carolina. I am so proud to be an American and I especially want to honor my family members for all they have given to me and our country.
