Addison's Newest Star: Thai Star Restaurant.
If you love Thai food, you're going to love the new Thai Star Restaurant in Addison, Texas. Owners Mark Earl Long and P'or Seekhor Long took over the old Best Thai location at the rear of the parking lot at 14833 Midway Road, Addison TX (south of Belt Line, north of Spring Valley). It's difficult to find if you've never been there before, but well worth the hunt to locate it (hint: turn into the driveway between Firefly Asain Grill and Ferrari's Italian and keep driving west).
We started the evening with the Cream Cheese Crab Roll appetizer ($6.95). One of my friends ordered the Lemon Grass Chicken entree ($9.95), another ordered the Pad Kee Mow with pork ($9.95) and I had the Green Curry with chicken ($9.95). We were all very pleased with our selections. The food was authentic and tasty. Since Thai Star doesn't yet have their liquor license, it's BYOB with no corking fee or any other ridiculous charges.
Thai Star is open 11 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday, and 11 am to 9:30 pm Friday & Saturday. They're closed on Sundays. Lunch specials start at $7.95 (including egg roll and soup or salad) and are available Monday through Friday, 11 am til 3 pm.
They also offer carry out service or free delivery. You can contact the restaurant at 972-991-6334 or visit their website at www.thaistaraddison.com.
You'll feel like you've been transported out of the Metroplex on arrival. From the large horn handle on the door, to the thatched hut motif inside, and the fabulous food, you'll put Thai Star on your list of favorites. If Mark and P'or hadn't participated in Taste Addison, I wouldn't have known about them. Now that you know about Thai Star, do as Mikey says: Try it! You'll like it!
Ifyou'd like to live within walking distance of Thai Star, let me know! There are single family homes, townhomes and condos nearby.
