Zombie Walk in Downtown Phoenix: Guard your brains! The undead are comin' for you...

I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret...and to hopefully prevent a huge freak out during Halloween.

If you plan to go to Downtown Phoenix this Halloween weekend (Oct. 29), expect to hear incomprehensible noises; expect to initially feel uncomfortable, almost fearing for your life at first; expect to get scared witless, and expect to see a horde of the undead.

Zombie Walk in Downtown PhoenixThat's right, ZOMBIES.

They're looking for brains, so be sure not to cross their path and stand comfortably on the sidelines, just out of their peripheral. Trust me, they're not intelligent beings, so you'll be ok.

Zombie Walk 2: Bigger! Better! Undead...er is back, and masses of the slow-moving undead will be taking over the streets of Downtown Phoenix.

Starting at Heritage Square at 6 p.m., you can either watch these zombies gather or you can join them. Dress up as your favorite zombie & start droolin' for some fresh brains. But don't worry, this event is intended to be a family-friendly event. So, if you're a part of the event, don't get too crazy & try not to traumatize the kids.

This FREE event is organized by the Downtown Ambassadors, Arizona Ghostbusters & Broken Bulb Studios. It'll begin promptly at 6:30 p.m., so be sure to get there on time! The walk will circle back to the park just in time for the All Hallows Eve Festival, which runs until 11 p.m.

You really thought the Zombie walk was the entire event?Zombie Walk & All Hallows Eve Festival, Downtown Phoenix

Here's what you can expect at the All Hallows Eve Festival:

  • candle-lit tours of the Rosson House
  • pumpkin carving and decorating
  • face painting
  • palm readers
  • children's costume contests
  • a cake walk
  • jump house
  • silent horror films
  • gift basket raffle
  • carnival games
  • live music
  • food vendors

Sorry zombies, there unfortunately won't be any brains at the vendors...

As for the older crowd, check out The Rose & Crown's A Nightmare on Adams Street with a beer garden & live bands from 7:30 p.m. to midnight.

Sounds like Downtown Phoenix is the place to be on October 29!

Zombie Banana's - now that's funny John.  We've done a lot of different Banana characters over the years but never zoombies!

Anna,

This looks like a complete blast! In costume these things are very uninhibited:)

Halloween has always been a favorite of mine.

I love this time of year.. I sort of thought a zombie would be a good costume.  Happy halloween!

Anna--this looks like so much fun.  Wish Phoenix was just down the road from Erie.  My grandkids would love this event.  My daughter was trying to find something different this year, but we may go back to Zoo Boo.  It's fun to see the zoo at night, too.
