If April Showers Bring May Flowers, What do March Monsoons Bring?

Without a doubt, 2011 will go down in history as a year of weather!  Here we are only 69 days into the year, and it has already been one of records in Connecticut--record wind, record snow, record rain.  If March "Came in Like a Lion," can you imagine how nasty that Lion smelled with this much rain on him?  I am so tired of thinking about the weather--can it just be there without bothering us?!  Let us hope (and hope and hope) that we will get a beautiful spring and summer as payback for what we have gone through this winter.  Here I am looking forward to . . .

Loved the title of your post....especially as yet another snow storm hit at my house in Stowe, VT.  With 30" under our belts from Monday and another 6 today, you can't imagine how terrific these flowers look!  They'll be here quickly (as will Spring RE season!).

Thanks!

Hi Lisa - And then in August we will have brown grass due to heat and lack of water.  Why can't we store up this stuff?!

Hi Caroline - I have been SOOO thankful this past week as we have accumulated all of this rain that it HAS NOT been snow.  Can you imagine (well, yes, I guess you can) how long it would take for it to all melt away?!

Chris--We are all anxious.  Rarely do I talk to anyone when they don't bring up the weather and how ready they are for spring.  Pictures were neat---assume your parents and kids in background?

Hi Pat - I figured someone would ask--no they were just stray people walking around at White Flower Farm where my wife, kids, and I took hundreds of pictures (but nothing compared to what we will be taking THIS year in appreciation!).

Hi Chris, Gosh you are all getting hammered with rain now.  We are supposed to have 3 inches of rain by the time this storm leaves tomorrow.  I really feel for the people who are in the path of rising rivers and streams.  Not sure if snow is better?   So thanks for your great photos of the nice weather to come!

Hopefully March Monsoons bring A Calmer June (or something like that).

Gloria

Chris, I was going to answer your title question with lots of water, but you addressed that in your blog.  I really hope that you guys don't have a lot of flooding due to all the snow and rain!

Hi Gloria - It is just getting old, isn't it!?

Hi Tony and Darcy - I bet we end up with a drought in a few months.  : )

Wonderful looking blossoms, Chris!  You are absolutely right about this year having the most unusual weather.  I woke this morning to hear that Japan had suffered an 8.9 earthquake, with Tsunami.  There are devastating images coming from there.  Hopefully, things will settle down soon, a we can live a more "normal" existence.

Hi Myrl, And now the tsunami is heading for the west coast.  Hope it doesn't do a lot of damage!

Hi Chris, those flowers are gorgeous. Hope you don't get a lot of flooding. The western part of the country has enough problems right now.

Hi Chris, I really loved all your flower photos. I know you will be glad to get into spring since you had a record setting winter.  We only had one day of snow in San Antonio, TX.  But, I am very excited about Spring.

Hi Toni - Our predicted rain fizzled out (Thank Goodness!).  Now we are all watching and hoping for the best on the West Coast.  My sister-in-law lives on Kauai, so it was a tense morning here.  Thank goodness the islands received little damage!

Hi Jerry - You are probably already having what we would consider "spring" weather.  : )  Enjoy it!!

Hang in there Chris. It could be so much worse. Lovely flowers to look at to divert your attention on the finer things in life that does result after the rain.

Hi Patricia - And the promised rain did not come!  The sun actually came out today while I was showing 10 homes.  Sure beats the 2" of rain I thought I was going to have to battle!
