I have listings and other business interests that I blog about all the time. When something changes or needs to be updated, I do so right away. On listings that I offer like the MLS, I change them accordingly. On other things that I do, it is handled the same way. HERE'S THE RUB...Others copy my stuff and don't keep it current

FIRST HAND INFORMATION

What I post is current. What someone else is doing who can say? That is why sites like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor etc will never be great because they rely on second hand information to make their engines run.

SO THIS GUY INQUIRES...

The other day I got a inquiry from a guy who says to me..I notice on the Internet you have different information posted. I said I don't know about all that, all I can tell you is what is going on. You have the horses mouth. How can I help you?

THE INTERNET DOES NOT SAY SO...WE DO

The Internet is not accurate. It is a communications device and at best everything on it needs to be verified and confirmed. You need to deal with the sources and not the middle persons...

So true Richie, and also when the information was written. We received a call last week from a potential buyer about a condo we had listed and sold 2 years ago which she said "according to zillow...it's current"!

Richie, you are right on.  Information from the internet is not true all the time. Buyers need a real estate professional to educate and guide them through the buying process.

If I only had a nickle for every time I got a call from someone wondering about something they saw on Zillow that was out of date.  I have even had people ask ME to call zillow to get them to take their house off the website.  (And the house was never my listing!)

Sometimes I think there may be an issue with Cookies Richie and they are looking at the same page they looked at several months ago rather than the updated page.  Just seems to happen all too often.

Richie,

This is one of the biggest challenges in the industry right now. A small number of MLS's seem to be beginning to take up the fight by not syndicating to some of the worst offenders.
