REMAX Raises Dues for Agents . . . Don't Just Read The Headline!

So I strolled over to Inman News a little while ago to find out a little bit about one of their educators.  What to my wondering eyes should appear, but a headline touting REMAX Raises Dues for Agents, Franchisees.  Oh No, What is a REMAX agent to do?  Perhaps read the article.

After holding steady for many years, the annual dues of $390 paid to REMAX InternatiREMAX Balloononal has gone up to $400.  $10 more per year?  I might have to skip a couple of coffee breaks per year to make up for that one.

But wait, there's more!  "In addition, RE/MAX affiliated brokerages in the US master franchise regions the brand owns--which cover 26 states and Washington, D.C.--now pay approximately $123 per month per agent in their region, $3 more than they did in 2011, 2012, and 2013."  Then they include a snazzy little map that includes Florida.  I guess that means that I will miss another 6 coffee breaks this year.

The moral of this story is, "Don't Just Read the Headline!"  If you form your opinion from that, you could find yourself with egg on your face.  I find REMAX to be worth every penny I pay, and a whole lot of pennies that I don't pay!

Chris, $10 per month is still not a bad deal with the rising home values!

Hi Joan,  Actually, it comes out to less than $4 per month.  :)  As you say, rising home values can take care of that rather quickly.
