OK this has been bugging me for going on 20 years. I have been driving by on La Brea Ave in Los Angeles, CA quite often over the past 20 years. Needless to say I always so this statue and wondered who did it what was the motivation and the questions could go on and on.
There used to be a Ford Dealership next to it, now it is an abandoned building, in other words a potential Condominium Development or Apartment Development land.
So getting back to my question. Here is this statue of a man with a hat that looks like a propeller but if you look close it is a little boy balancing himself? What was the artist thinking? Who is the artist? Who commissioned the artist any way you get the idea....
OK I can not wait for your answers so I will share what I see. I think of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin of Communist Russia's fame.... am I crazy? What do you see? Is this a spoof on Lenin or is it a spoof on Los Angeles? Let me know what you think.....
