The Variety of Life

I have heard of people being in a rut. They tend to do the same things every day. Day in...and day out. The same job, the same routine, the same everything. It is my hope that most of you reading this post are not in this category. How wonderful it is to do something different every day! Yet sometimes we get miffed at folks who change course in their lives. Let me try to explain.

I have a new buyer that told me he is looking for a very specific home. After listening to his requirements, I felt pretty good that I could find him exactly what he wanted. I had been through this routing before. So, I sent out some perfect properties for my new buyer to see. I was ready to go show him these properties and have him love them all. Sound of crickets chirping.

The next day I sent two more perfect properties. I was on a roll. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp.

The next day my new buyer received 2 more perfect properties, and he sent me a property he fell in love with! It was exactly what he wanted! The problem? It had absolutely nothing to do with the requirements he so carefully detailed to me in the beginning. He had changed course.

Believe it or not this happens quite often. The buyer knows exactly what they want...until they start seeing what is available. Oh, the variety of life. It WE live for it, shouldn't our buyers see a variety of homes as well? It's OK not to really know what you are looking for on day one. Your agent is there to help you narrow down your choices and love the home you end up buying.

Good morning Peter. This is such a familiar story. It does happen all the time and we simply go with it. Thanks for the terrific post.
