New Homes for Sale at The Preserve Neighborhood in Carlsbad May 2016 Update
Development continues at The Preserve neighborhood in northeast Carlsbad, south of the 78 freeway and west of College Boulevard. No houses yet, but they have a partial road in, a bridge and significant grading has been done.
New Homes at The Preserve
Formerly named Quarry Creek, this new Carlsbad neighborhood will feature 294 homes in 4 different communities on the 156 acre-site, with over 50% of the acreage reportedly dedicated to open space:
56 2 and 3-story single family homes up to 2473 SF
48 attached (paired) 2-story homes up to 1973 SF
102 2-story triplex homes up to 1852 SF
88 s-story townhomes up to 1700 SF
No pricing has been announced yet, and I’ve heard the first homes should be available in late 2016. No doubt prices will be announced once homes are available for purchase.
The Preserve Amenities
The amenities at The Preserve include a recreation center with fitness equipment, parks, hiking trails, pool, playground, BBQ area and Bocce Ball court. The Preserve is close to shopping, dining, major commuting routes (including the 78 and 5 freeways ), medical facilities (e.g., Tri-City Medical Center), schools and general services, plus a tribal resource center.
As you can see from the photos they have made significant progress since my last update in an area that includes a reclaimed rock quarry, Buena Vista Creek and El Salto Falls (considered sacred by the San Luis Rey band of the Luiseno Indians). An historic hacienda built in 1839, one of the oldest structures in SoCal, is nearby to the west.
You can read more about the recent fossils that were discovered on the property which halted work temporarily in 2015.
