With the Internet helping out and commenting on every subject imaginable, the random opinion levels for everything by everybody will rise with it. It is a self-educating system that works via a beck and call system which exceeds studying, enrolling or structure of any kind. If one wakes up and wants to know something, GOOGLE it and the education begins

SHOW ME or TEACH ME

Now lets be frank and succinct here. Not everyone who is given tools know how to use them. Not only is further explanation necessary for the majority but also how to learning experiences as well as demonstrations which lead to practice makes perfect will be required. This will always be

PEOPLE WHO KNOW

That brings us to human nature. I like becoming informed about medical, legal, nature, politics, electronics, engineering, technology & so many different subjects when needed but I do not rely on my own when it comes to something I don't know about. People with experience will always be sought out

GOOGLE the MLS? No....

Lets take Real Estate for an example. With Zillow and their zestimates, rental services and instant offerings of properties, areas and different dynamics, the public will naturally start there more and more to begin their Real Estate quest. Once introduced to the basics, then the title of the post is next in line and may become more popular than ever

REAL ESTATE CONSULTANT

Not everyone will want to take this expensive, time consuming subject of Real Estate and play with it until they succeed. However, they may want to save where they can. What they will do is either hire a professional or at the very least, seek out a consultant. That adviser person will now become in demand for their services & save money for many.

CONSULTANT QUALITIES

What are the attractive attributes of a consultant? What would a FSBO or the random client or principal to be want to see, hear and experience when contacting an individual for counsel? Remember, they want to cut costs but still get the job done. Let me list a few items....

1. Being available is a big deal because Real Estate is a big deal. Consultants know to be reachable

2. Is able to speak sixth grade meaning: Talk simple talk so that the consul-tee gets it. Repeat if required

3. Offers reasonable fees for services either by the job, hour or result. Open to the saving money subject

4. Is able to supply other related sources necessary by referring them out. One call consulting if you will

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL REAL ESTATE CONSULTANT

If a consultant happens to be a Real Estate agent, an experienced sales person with subject savvy, this enhances the consultation and makes for a very attractive first step sort of like what Zillow and other Real Estate sites are doing. This is a natural shift dynamic that is here and will increase too. Why?

SIDEBAR: Agents, have you ever stopped to consider that when you place a lock box on a property, so can the principals? How about agents that are not available. Principals can do that too. Furthermore, escrow, title, termite, inspectors and all the rest offer excellent feedback & input regarding Real Estate procedures and next step needed. Granted, accountability is missing but the allure of savings are there

SAVING MONEY

Anywhere people can save money, they will want to now more than ever. The expense to do business or purchase quality items is high & anywhere a person can save will attract many. The extreme of this is if people base all they are doing on saving money they could end up costing themselves a fortune. How?

ONE BOO-BOO and YOUR TOAST!

One mistake! That's all it would take to make the ultra-conservative, money saving system collapse and offer much regret after the fact. This is how most people learn their lessons. It is called hindsight and it is a bitter experience if it involves life-changing subject, large amounts of money or losses

UH-OH NOT THIS!

We forget too that lurking in the background is litigation. This is when anyone, for whatever purpose, where reasoning and prudence has failed decides to sue as a remedy. Right there, the whole idea of handling something personally collapses as we now hire an Attorney to remedy the issues

HIRE-UP

So how does a person, who has never done Real Estate but wants to save money enter into this most interesting and life-changing lucrative subject successfully with minimum risk? Well, hire an agent is still the number one choice. This works more often than not. You still do get what you pay for

YOU DO IT or I'LL DO IT or the COMBO?

Second choice that may become more popular or no less is hire an consultant who will do just that or offer to take it all on for a hard to say no to... fee. This is where many agents will excel especially now. You see there is a shift coming in how agents do business and what buyers & sellers can do to save $$$

COMPETITION IS FIERCE

Real Estate is a multi- trillion dollar business arena and it is attracting many to participate for even a small percentage of that amount. This invites the famous better, faster and cheaper dynamic to become activated with competition and those that can offer services along those lines will stay in the game.

Agents may come and go, but consultants for anything will always be in demand. A licensed Real Estate consultant with experience will never decline in demand but instead increase in favor

Hi Richie

A very enjoyable post on so on target. So much of what we do IS consultative, and a good consultant has to help the clearly define their needs, the benefits, and help them achieve them through guidance, advice, problem solving, education, and more. We can't lost sight of the fact that as in any consulting role, it's all about the client's needs. And we must earn their trust so we can better assist them.
