Here we are in the middle of July and I'm thinking - how did we get here so fast?! It is a very good time for a mid year reflection on our business and life plan. Those of you that know me, know I'm big on a balanced lifestyle and do my best to keep it in check. Having lots of business is great but I'm not going to sacrifice our personal life.
So with that said - guess what? HA! Sacrificing our personal life is exactly what happened for several months or so. We got busy with buyers relocating in and out or town as well as listings going on that we rarely finished working until 8 or so at night. That's just nuts to both of us. We recently hired another assistant that really knows her stuff and has picked up the job quicker than we imagined possible. Thank you very much!!
We have been happy with our numbers so far this year. We're ahead of schedule and it looks like we'll top off the year higher than last year. And trust me, after all those down years it's so nice to be back in the grove for several years now. I'd say we're back to our 'normal' business. We mainly work with our A list of clients that we've had for many years. We are also absolutely delighted with the number of referrals we've received and given this year. Many referrals are with fellow ActiveRain members and others are with CRS agents across the country. As my husband always says " We like writing out referral checks"!
One of the main topics my business partner (and husband) talked about at the beginning of the year, is where do we really want to spend our resources for marketing? We both thought we were spread too thin last year and didn't keep up as well as we'd prefer. So now we concentrate on ActiveRain, mainly, along with links going out to Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Linked-In. We're also in the process of re-defining some of our blogging long tail searches and we're pretty excited about the direction we're headed. More to come on that...later!
I've also had more fun on Facebook with friends and clients! One client that bought and sold her home with us about 10 years ago and moved away, messaged me on FB. She said - Hey Anna - my brother is moving to town from WI can you help him and his wife buy a home? Of course we found the perfect home for them and they are just as wonderful as she has been all these years. In fact now she's decided to move back to the valley and we're looking for a new home for her as well. That's how we roll....it's fun! Our clients become like family to us and we really care about them. We like it that way.
