Friday Diary of a Charlotte Realtor® - August 11, 2017

My week began last weekend, staging a new listing with my team stager and we had a great time prepping for the big photo shoot earlier in the week. We're now listed and active and so far, it's a big hit and we're thrilled!

Another listing was shot, put on the market this week and we were under Contract in less than 24 hours! Those sellers just signed a Contract on a fabulous new construction home today! It was so exciting, seeing them be able to get top dollar for their home (we had many Offers and took a total non-contingency buyer). We're looking towards smooth sailing to get this wonderful family's home Closed and their new home purchased as well.

After our Contract signing for our new buyers this morning, I worked on a new website with an amazing team of developers and I cannot wait to share that story and results with the world! I also worked with my surveyor to answer questions for two buyers who are purchasing unusual properties. With plans to install a pool on one of the lots and the other buyer installing an airplane hanger on the other one, there are some crazy considerations that differ from the normal survey. You learn something new every day!

Happy Fort Mill Home Buyers

An exciting Closing with some wonderful buyers on a lovely home in Fort Mill, SC. This was a referral client who rented a year before buying and very wisely took the time to wait for their dream home to hit the market! They truly found the home of their dreams - every single thing they were looking for and they couldn't be happier!

Another lesson this week - while showing new construction homes last week, I ran across this 'lovely' pink porta potty! Little did I know that there is a hidden meaning behind these...

One of my contractor friends shared that the Pink Pots donate a percentage of their rental income towards breast cancer research - and they're the only ones that construction workers won't deface! Who knew?

It's been a great week for Charlotte this week with the PGA championship tournament in town. Pre-tournament rounds and festivities began on Monday and the actual tournament play began yesterday. The next time one is hosted here, I will definitely be making an effort to work from home for the full week - traffic is unbearable! I live right behind the course and I don't remember the craziness that we've had this year with traffic. I will say, it's a great time to be in the transportation business in Charlotte!

Another lesson learned - a personal one this time: When someone tells you they're having oral surgery, it's a BIG deal! I'm in week 3, after having gone through this myself and I am confident that I will be far more compassionate when others experience this from now on! WOW!  3 weeks out of 3 months of a liquid-to-soft diet is surely to take off some weight but, gosh, I miss my salads!!

Something that will be taking the pain away is a visit from my oldest son & daughter-in-law and their new fur baby tomorrow.  They will be home for a week and I have felt like a child anticipating Christmas all week!  Speaking of 'child,' I'm secretly hoping for a 'big' announcement but, we will be just as excited to see them if there is no announcement! Okay, maybe not AS excited! LOL I've been waiting on one of my boys to get married and immediately have our first grandchild - it's been 1 year and 8 months since they wed. It's time, right?!!

Something to ponder this week...

You're never too old

Have a great week everyone!

Hello Debe,  I was in Vegas all week learning from Tom Ferry at his Summit.  Now I need to put it in practice.

Hi Will Hamm! I know you learned a lot and you'll put what you learned to good use! I always come away from those things with a bit of sensory overload but, as soon as I narrow my list of 'must-dos' down to 3, it's more manageable!

Have a great weekend!

I like the pink potty idea to help support breast cancer research.  I haven't seen one yet, but will start looking!

Debe- I had no idea about the Pink Portia Potty! I try to avoid using those at all costs! What a wonderful and productive week you had! I hope that your mouth is getting back to normal. What's the first thing you want to eat when you're given the go-ahead for regular food?
