With the fires in California so prevalent in the news, we have to be so thankful for those firefighters putting their lives at risk to save others, and their homes. Last night in Denver we had two senior living locations go up in flames putting seniors out in the cold with no where to go. One home was gas explosion, and the other was a fire broke out. One senior in a high rise jumped from their balcony and broke bones. Thankful for those fire fighters saving so many seniors' lives!
Being very dry in Denver, there have been years we have had issues with fires all over the City and in our mountains putting many lives at risk. Thankfully this year we got a little more moisture!
My previous neighbor was the Chief of Homicide in Aurora, when the theater shooting happened and he was out on the job for a VERY long day! He used to share some stories that would curl my hair. Not sure how you can stay in that business for 25+ years! He had some horrific stories to tell, and never ceased to amaze me.
Today we have freezing rain and snow heading into our City. Thankfully there will be first responders available for the inevitable crashes that will happen. Nothing good happens from having ice and cars on the road. We will surely have a need for EMTs and ambulances!
Thank you for those who put their lives at risk for US!
