As many of you know the presidential election is coming up on November 4th. In the city of Austin we also have several issues to vote on this year. Due to overwhelming interest in this election there has been great early voter turn out. On the first day of early voting almost 20K people voted. Today, October 31st, AKA Halloween is the last day for early voting. This year is already a record breaker for early voting. So get out there Austinites and early vote.

Two of the best reasons for voting today are: Wear your Halloween costume and scare the beejeasus out of the other voters, and most importantly you can avoid the long lines on November 4th!

One thing to remember is according to Texas laws there can be no polling or campaigning within 100 feet of a polling place. Below please find the two Mega Voting Locations in Austin. The hours are as follows.

Regular Hours: Mon - Sat 7 am - 7 pm, Sun Noon - 6 pm

Special Hours: Wed, October 29 - Fri, October 31, 7 am - 9 pm

Travis County Airport Blvd Offices -  5501 Airport Blvd (Across from Lammes Candies)

West Tower Village, Suite 115-  4534 West Gate Boulevard

If you can't make it to the polls today then please make sure to get out on November 4th and vote. Good luck!

Hi Betina, Great info for people in your area. I wanted to get out and vote early, but the lines here were sooooo long -sounds like the same thing where you are.  I'll just get to my regular voting place on Nov 4 at 6:45 AM.  Usually you can get in and out that way!

Our polls open at 6 am!  I won't be there that early, but with the great turnout predicted, it'll be shorthly after that!  Good information for Austin!

Update- According to the Austin American Statesman over 299,000 registered voters in Travis county voted early! That is almost half of the 600,000 registered voters in Travis county. WOW! Maybe this means the lines on the fourth won't be too long.
