I just got back from a Sherlock Holmes play called "Sherlock Holmes and The Crucifer of Blood" at the Alley Theatre in downtown Houston. It's refreshing to go into town without the kids on occasion. And it helps you really appreciate the diversity and culture of things to do in our great city!
We had a blast! Ate dinner at Perbacco, an Italian restaurant in the theater district. The food was excellent. I highly recommend it. The cappuccino was amazing. Hit the spot! Gave me the perk I needed to stay up and write a blog...

To borrow a line from Ratatouille, it sure was "lightningy" the other Saturday, 7/18/09... I was out in the middle of the storm getting a contract signed. It was an awe-inspiring light show. I know of at least 4 fires that occurred due to lightening in the League City / Friendswood areas... This is very unusual. Does anyone know how extensive the damage was? I know if was likely a total loss for one in Friendswood just off 518 east of 528. I have a friend at League City VFD that said the fire was raging out of the rooftop before … (1 comments)

City of League City Continues Mandatory Water Rationing Stage 2 Mandatory water rationing began Thursday, July 2, 2009 as required by League City Code of Ordinances Chapter 114, Article VI, Drought Contingency Plan. Thanks to cooperation from League City residents and businesses, as well as a few days of rain, our water usage has decreased. However, due to projected drought conditions and repairs on our Highway 3 Pump Station the City will continue the mandatory rationing. City of League City Implements Mandatory Water Rationing The City of League City has reached MODERATE Water Shortage Conditions. City Ordinance NO 2002-26 and the League City Drought Contingency Plan requires that we enact a stage 2 response to this water shortage. Stage 2 response requires that citizens follow the listed MANDATORY rules regarding water conservation..\ This mandatory water rationing goes into effect Thursday, July 2, 2009. This plan should allow the City to achieve a ten percent reduction in daily water demand.

Here's something I've observed while selling homes in League City, TX. The rise of MLS-only listings is leading to sticky ethical situations for buyer agents. When a seller has their house listed in MLS with an agent that provides NO other services, the seller is hesitant to ask questions or communicate with their listing agent for fear that they will incur additional charges. The natural result of this is that they turn to buyer agents for advice as they come into contact with them.
