Happy New Year As 2022 draws to a close and 2023 follows close on its heels I contemplate what lies ahead and I am grateful for the life's lessons learned in 2022. I am especially grateful for my wonderful neighbors who were so supportive during our recent winter storm and provided us with shelter. I am grateful for the caring and supportive management team at my Coldwell Banker office. Attitude of Gratitude I have been on a journey of self improvement over the past year. This improvement is taking many forms including my health and more importantly my attitude. This Week of Thanksgiving - Giving Thanks This has been a really tough year for us, lots of gains and lots of losses too. But, amidst everything I have plenty to be thankful for. I have a wonderful family. My kids have been incredibly supportive, especially Liam who is just 18 years old but has grown up so much this year. He is studying IT at CCBC and with God's grace will continue next year. I am incredibly proud of all my kids. Giving Tuesday is the Beginning Today is giving Tuesday and so far I’ve been bombarded by articles in my email, on social media and on my local news broadcast about opportunities for giving in my local area. It’s so important to give back and support charities and organizations in your local area but why do we need a special day to remind us to give? There are so many opportunities to give back. Traditions of the Holidays Does your family have traditions around the holidays? To me nothing says Christmas is just around the corner better than the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I marched in the Powassan Lion's Club Marching Band in high school and my youngest son marches in the Towson High School Marching Generals - we both share the dream of some day marching in the Macy's Parade. The General's have marched in many parades. But, every Thanksgiving morning we turn on the television and flip to the parade and pay particular attention to the marching bands. Happy Thanksgiving This last year has been a challenge for many of us in the real estate business. But, at the same time we all have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for: A loving family. Happy Thanksgiving to Our Canadian Neighbours This weekend marks the Canadian Thanksgiving celebrations. Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October and here in the United States it is Columbus Day on Monday. Many don't know this, but, I am Canadian. I moved to Baltimore in 1997 from Waterloo, Ontario. I still celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with my family and friends, we also celebrate American Thanksgiving in November. I have a great deal of things to be grateful for this Thanksgiving season. The year has been very challenging in the real estate market. We've seen a great deal of changes and upheavel. I am grateful for the safe return of my son SPC Ryan Slattery from Iraq. I am thankful for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we at home can be safe from potential threats. I am also thankful that we live in this great country of the United States of America where we remain free and are safe within our borders.

Something cool that Xerox is doing If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a Thank You card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card.
