Speechless Sundays - Sweet Gracie Rose Visits the VetI am always a nervous ninny when I take sweet Gracie to the vet because we almost didn't get to adopt this precious little one. She suffered a stroke while being spayed but, was ultimately released for adoption THE DAY that Ray and I were being 'screened' to adopt her brother, Jack.

Furry Friends Friday - Our Sweet GabbyGabriela Ava has got more energy than I think I ever had - even as a child! For those of you who know me well, you know I'm the original energizer bunny!!
Gabby's Konga ball gets more action than any toy ever has in our home - as does her Tweety Bird and other favorite toys. She is quite the 'fetcher' and can go for hours - literally!
If only we had 1/10th of her energy - oh what we could do with that! LOL

Speechless Sundays - It's Maddie Week!I have 5 amazing fur babies and could not imagine life without any of them! Each of them have distinct personalities and I catch them all being the cutest creature on the planet! This week, however, the best shots I got were of sweet Maddie. She has the personality of 10 dogs - Ray nor I have either seen a pet with this much personality!
When she chills though, she CHILLS! She loves sleeping on our pillows, and of course, we don't mind a bit. Sweet dreams, sweet Maddie!

Furry Friends Friday - My 2 Favorite Puppies in the World
These two make my heart smile multiple times, every single day! They absolutely love going outside in the evenings with Ray and I to watch the sunset. They play non-stop most evenings...just not tonight...
Today, they both got their new 'dos' and Maddie is always a bit depressed after her grooming for some reason. She has laid around all evening feeling a bit mopey and all the while, Gabby has done everything she can do to get Maddie to play!

Speechless Sundays - The Old Old and the NewYou know, I typed the title and then realized that my sweet little Gracie will be 4 years old next month!! I cannot BELIEVE it! We were SO lucky that the adoption agency visited us in January of 2020, just prior to the world shutting down. The Foster Mom visited with Gracie and Jack in-tow, hoping that one of them would be adopted that day. We surprised them and took them both...and never once looked back. They have been such a joy!

Furry Friends Friday - You Asked for It - Gabby Before & AfterFor those with dogs who require grooming, you will understand the trepidation and sheer stress that goes into that first grooming appointment. While we have been using this groomer our last 3 dogs, this new one was a furry mess before I got brave enough to take her in!
Gabby is SO small and I worried about her not doing well at the groomer. She had been a challenge since day-1 to bathe, brush and detangle. She doesn't like it one little bit!

Saturday's Shots - The Kitties Could Not Resist My Daddy!My Daddy came to town to spend several days with us and we loved every minute of it. He fits right in at our house - every fur baby was quite attentive to him.
This is our sweet Gracie, 'hanging out' with him, making sure he got his feline fix while he stayed with us. He missed his fur baby (Shadow - a big, beautiful solid black cat) while he was here but, my 5 furry loves sure did their part to make him know he was loved here too!

Speechless Sundays - Maddie's Groundhog Buddy, BrownieMaddie was playing on the other end of the house while I was in my office wrapping up some paperwork and writing a few posts today. I spotted our resident groundhog, Brownie and called for Madelaine to come see Brownie.
She flew as fast as she could to get to the window to see Brownie! This happens several times a week and today, I believe Gabby finally figured out what was going on too! LOL

Sweet little Gabby was such a treat to come home to on Friday when I got in from girls' week at the beach! She has not let me out of her site when I'm in the house since I've been home. Puppies are just so stinkin' precious - and put perma grins on our hearts!

Our sweet Gabriela Ava - Gabby as we've come to call her - brings us so much joy and laughter. While Gabby's been with us for several weeks now, each day still brings new delights -especially with she and Maddie.
One of our rituals is wrapping up the day, watching the sunset. Saturday's Shots - Cutest New AdditionOur newest addition to our family, Gabriela Ava, is always on the move. In fact, so much so that I don't recall ever having so much trouble getting photos of a fur baby!! This one is truly a challenge!
Havanese puppies are notorious for being 'velcro' dogs and Maddie was the definition of a velcro dog! Gabby on the other hand, is totally independent and truly only cares about Maddie! She sticks to her like glue and I have to say, Maddie is THE best big sister.

Furry Friends Friday - Newfound FunAfter losing my Mom in January, my Daddy is now ready to sell his home and move to Florida! He has found his new home and is seriously downsizing from 5,200 SF to 1,700 SF. Coincidentally, I have spent the last year attempting but, failing miserably at becoming a minimalist!
I visited my Dad on Monday to help him with some packing and wound up having to hire a moving company to bring a multitude of family heirlooms/antiques home with me. Talk about thwarting my attempts at minimizing! OH and along the way, I was painfully reminded … (21 comments)

Another Speechless Sundays Post - More Fur Baby Love 🐾We had a Festive Fourth party yesterday as we had other plans on Tuesday and really wanted to have a leisurely day without guests having to think about working the next day (the 5th is Wednesday this year). Some of our friends have a senior pup who can't be left alone for very long so, we told them just to bring the dog (Ollie).

Speechless Sundays - Jack Can Finally Sleep - in Peace!
While Gracie may be Madelaine's 'favorite' kitty, the one cat that Maddie loves to harass the most is Jack. He allows her to jump on his back; he never retaliates and she rarely lets him sleep when she's awake. I know - poor Jack!
So, I have put a bed for Jack on the credenza behind my desk, out of Maddie's reach and he sleeps like a baby now. When he gets up, he's ready to play with Maddie so, it's a win-win for both fur babies!!

Furry Friends Friday - Sweet Miss GracieOf course, I love all of my fur babies but, Gracie & Maddie offer so darned many photo ops, I simply cannot resist! When Gracie doesn't want to play with Madelaine, she hops on the backs of chairs and enjoys peace & quiet for a spell.
I loved this picture of her with her raccoon tail just waiting for Maddie to jump up and nab it! She doesn't seem the least bit worried about that happening either.

Speechless Sundays - Sibling BFFsWe adopted these two together because the foster mom who brought Jack for a home visit, also had his sister with her and we fell in love with both! Thinking that we may want a little girl kitty, she thankfully brought Gracie with her.
This was January of 2020 when we met these precious kittens - they were positively adorable...and inseparable. The cutest duo in our house may just be these BFF siblings. Oh, the joy they bring us!

Everyday is made to celebrate our wonderful furbabies! This week, I had every intention of using my blocked time to post this picture of our sweet Gracie but, work life prevented that! And, that's okay, I still have the picture, right?!
Gracie (and all of our furbabies, for that matter) always find comfort, whether it be odd places or odd positions. Gracie loves laying by the window in the kitchen, watching the geese and other waterfowl. Yesterday, someone was in her spot though - so, she took ownership of the chair next to it! Saturday's Shots - Who Said Sleep is Overrated?Well, certainly not Madelaine! She is quite the dozer and a sleeping puppy is one of the most adorable sights on the planet! As they rest peacefully, their cute little paws twitch as they dream of running and playing. Watching a sleeping puppy is a reminder of the innocence and beauty of nature, and can bring a sense of calm and tranquility to even the busiest of days.

Furry Friends Friday - Maddy Loves Her Ride!The mornings begin with a ride from the bedroom through the foyer and back - stopping along the way to admire herself in the mirror, greet each kitty (she's now on their level) and letting everyone know, SHE is the special one!
The evening ride is from the fire-pit, watching the sunset touring the house again. The personality of this dog is simply boundless - and we love the smiles she puts on our faces & hearts.
