There were 1,604 home closings reported in April, which represents a decline of 24.9 percent from the 2,135 closing reported in April of last year. Year to date closings are off 28 percent.
The median price for a single-family home was $164,500 in April and for a condo it was $149,900. This compares with median residential and condo prices of $180,000 and $162,000 respectively during April of 2008.

Median prices were also down from $168K to $160K on single family residences and from $154K to $151K on condos. Sorry, everybody, I wish I had better news. Really I do. Last night, I watched the National Evening News and it seemed almost surreal as they were describing the three big companies falling apart.
