I remember the first time I ever heard of someone buying a town for themselves. It was back in 1989 and it was the actress Kim Basinger who bought the town of Braselton, Georgia after she divorced Alec Baldwin. I thought that was pretty cool back then (even though it didn't really turn out well for her) In current times it seems there are many towns privately owned and many more are now available for sale. From bankrupt towns, abandoned towns, towns like Buford, Wyoming population: One, to different towns around the world it seems everything is for sale these days! … (18 comments)
