community: North plains, rich in history and community! - 09/07/11 12:43 PM
It was just over 100 years ago that North Plains became North Plains and since that day that rich history and community has always been present. This wonderful community isn’t large, but got its name from Lewis and Clark who called the area the North Tualatin Plains.

The community got a real boost because of the rich farm land and the railroad coming through in the early development of the community. The area around North Plains grew in to large communities, North Plains stayed small and today still has many farms that feed many of the farmer’s markets.

community: Helping the homeless: We need to think of everyone during the holiday season especially - 12/12/10 04:30 PM

At this time of year when temperatures dip sometimes in to the teens, many homeless are left cold and hungry. Though we can’t always provide housing for all the homeless, we can at least help them be more comfortable and less hungry.

This is where my son’s Cub Scout troop comes in to play. They are always doing stuff to help the community. This last week they got together and with donations from a few local stores, they were able to create bags that included band aids, water, granola bars and a pair of wool socks.

It has been about two years since my grandparents on my moms side passed away. But, they were actually gone long before that day thanks to alzheimer’sdisease, and its ability torob the brain of memories of loved ones and times since passed.

This went on for many years, and from time to time, … (16 comments)

community: I am not a big fan of the lowball offer, but what if it gets accepted? - 02/13/09 10:42 AM
I presently have 7 short sales listings in my listing inventory and I'm not a big fan of the person that comes in within one week of the home being on the market and writing an offer for 40-50% of the loan amount.
The fact is, when a buyer calls on one of these short sale properties, I refer them to another agent in my office as I don't like to work both ends of the transaction. I don't feel I can be fair to all parties involved with all the work that is involved in a short sale.
But, what happens when … (126 comments)

community: It pays to play nice and stay positive in the rain - 07/23/08 02:41 AM
This Activerain success story is less about the success I've gained, but the success gained by others. The value of the rain to people that took the time to write about themselves, their area, and to show the passion they have for this business has brought some of them great new clients and today their efforts brought me to them.
You see, this week my blog and website have brought me four people that wanted to relocate to other parts of the country and my state. Thanks to Activerain I was able to scour through hundreds of posts in these areas to … (30 comments)
