Aircraft Manufacturer Airbus recently launched their "Future Airbus" Website featuring an awesome video about their Concept Planes featuring their "Concept Cabins". Airbus conducted a global survey asking young people that will be passengers in 2050 about their vision of air travel in the future. "A third of the people that took part in the survey of 10,000 people said that they want the flight itself to feel like a holiday experience and to be able to access all the technological advances which fill their daily lives during the flight." The latest edition of The Robb Report ran a feature on Lufthansa's new First Class Cabins about four of their new A380 aircraft. While not as futuristic looking as Air Canada's First Class Cabin or as ostentatious as Emirates Airways, Lufthansa's First Class must definitely rank amongst the top five First Class Cabins in the world. Currently, Singapore Air is said to hold first place. The A380 is the double deck, wide body jet that can seat 525 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 853 people in all-economy class configurations.

Did you hear that Spirit Airlines will start charging it's customers up to $45 each way for a carry on bag with effect from August 1, 2010? Spirit is known as an ultra-low cost airline with flights in and around the United States, the Caribbean, Bahamas and Latin America. Spirit Airline's new charge for a carry-on bag is $45 if paid at the gate and $30 if paid in advance. I love to travel and am always on the lookout for different and interesting travel experiences. While exploring the internet I recently stumbled across one of the most unusual "hotel suites" I've yet seen: A one-of-a-kind luxury hotel suite inside an old plane.
Vliegtuig Suite is a 1960's 120-seater East German government plane that had been completely refurbished and converted into a luxury hotel suite for two. Owned by a Dutch Company (Hotelsuites.nl), the plane is grounded at Teuge Airport in the Netherlands. The "suite" includes a King-size bed, a full bathroom, jacuzzi, sauna, and a small kitchen. Segs in the City - I'm going to be meeting friends in Washington next month and we've decided to tour the city on Segways - a fun and different way to see the sites. It's also an eco-friendly way to get around! I've never used a Segway before but it seems simple enough. Seatguru.com is a great site I discovered when looking up information on the various airlines and the configuration of the aircraft cabins. Seatguru.com by Tripadvior provides color-coded seating charts for most aircraft used on most airlines indicating preferred seats and showing those with disadvantages. The site also provides other useful information about every seat in the cabin as well as details about in-flight meals, entertainment and other amenitiies. This is an extremely useful resource when shopping for airline tickets because the consumer can easily compare baggage limits & fees, pet policies and other factors worth considering when selecting which airline to fly. … (2 comments)

Anyone who has had the misfortune of recently flying on American Airlines will be amazed by the tremendous difference when flying on Virgin America. Virgin America - another company born out of the genius of Sir Richard Branson - is the first American airline to implement "mood lighting" in its aircraft cabins.
