Do you have questions about Medical Assistance for seniors in St. Michael Minnesota?  Albertville Minnesota or Hanover Minnesota?  Be sure to check out this seminar for seniors, their heirs and caregivers.

If you or a loved one have questions about how to pay for nursing home care that might be more than the Social Security check … (12 comments)

Can YOU Help the Crow River Senior Center? - 09/24/12 04:51 PM
The Crow River Senior Center has a new piano....but it comes with a caveat.

Purchase the Piano

It is a Roland, complete with weighted keys, pedal, bench and stand. They need to raise $800 to cover the cost.
There will be an opportunity for people to "Pay for the Piano" by signing up to purchase a key or keys. There is a paper keyboard mounted on the door at the Center. Sign your name and make a donation at the desk.
They already have received $350!
The piano will be used by the choir and for … (10 comments)

Unwanted or Unneeded Drugs? Pickup Day is September 29, 2012! - 09/23/12 11:31 AM
Many of you might have old prescription drugs that you are not using or which have expired.

You can’t just throw them in the trash and keeping them presents a health and safety issue to others (and you) in your own home.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office will host a Pickup Day for these old medications on September 29, 2012 in Monticello at City Hall.  I don’t have the times. But you can call Lt. Todd Hoffman at 862-682-7640 for more information.

The even is held in conjunction with the Drug enforcement Administration and is being … (9 comments)

Can You Have Too Much Social Media? - 09/21/12 01:40 PM
I would like to “pare down” my social media, BUT, I am constantly told by others here on the Rain, that that is a bad idea.

However, the question is:  I have people following me on Pinterest (which I haven’t touched in over two months, Twitter the same and Facebook only when there is a reason to be there because of ActiveRain.

I decided instead to concentrate on AR and expired listings, along with my usual contingent of buyers and bank-owned properties.

This seems to work for me, and I am not as harried and … (47 comments)

If You Work with Bank-Owned Properties, You Might Need These Products! - 09/07/12 11:28 AM
Sometimes, we have had persistent and pesky odors that just won’t leave a house even after it has been professionally cleaned.

I found two products that I personally have used and that work really well, and I thought I would pass them along.

The first we bought because a persistent cat urine smell.

Read these reviews from some other people, too.

And the other product works well on smoke odors…whether from cigarettes, etc. or built-up cooking grease smells.

Krud-Kutter is carried at our local hardware store.

120 Miles Isn't Too Far to Drive to Find the Perfect House! - 09/02/12 03:11 PM

Some of you might remember last night’s post about the agent who ignored our request to change the showing time from 4:00 pm today to 2:30 pm.  Well, he finally called me this morning as I was on the first and longest leg of the journey (120 miles altogether)  down 694 with all kinds of barriers and road construction.  I still don’t know what his message said, and I don’t care.

Why?  First of all, it took HIM nearly 18 hours to respond, and secondly, and most important, I think we found the house!

What a beauty … (14 comments)

Sellers, Make Sure Your Agent is Responsive and Responsible! - 09/01/12 06:37 PM
Tomorrow I will be driving 121 miles according to Google Maps to show property.  BUT, that is about 30 miles less than originally planned because one seller demands 24 hour notice, and we needed to change the route a little later in the day.

The MLS wouldn’t take our CHANGE request because it was less than 24 hours in advance, and I called the agent.  The agent said to email him or text him for quicker response.  I did.  No response.

The seller did him or herself no favors in the 24 hour notice and even worse … (13 comments)
