It's no secret that our current real estate market in Newnan is fast and furious....even now, during the "slow" months, properly priced homes are selling at record pace. I came across a post the other day that discussed the basis and breakdown of the mortgage meltdown. Although it was an excellent post, one of the commenters caught my attention by mentioning his/her disdain for REO and Short Sale listing agents

As a way to maintain (and increase) my income over the course of the past few years, I began concentrating mostly on first time homebuyers. Unfortunately, I've experienced the same scenario one too many times and the end result has always been the same......an excited home buyer goes crazy over USDA Rural Development's 100% financing loan or HUD's $100 down payment program and mistakenly think that this means that purchasing a new home can be done with NO FINANCIAL INVOLVEMENT OR COMMITMENT on the part of the purchaser whatsoever!!! This couldn't be farther from the truth!! The Georgia Dream NSP Purchase Program was created to encourage the purchase of foreclosed properties. Funds utilized are an allocation of federal dollars received by the Department of Community Affairs from the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008.
