marianna: Acceptable Deposititories For Escrow Accounts - 03/18/12 04:01 AM
Brokers may maintain either an interest-bearing or non-interest-bearing escrow account in a commercial bank, credit union, or savings association in Florida.
Some brokers do not want the responsibility and liability of maintaining an escrow account. Instead, they may choose to have a Florida based title company that has trust powers to maintain the escrow funds, or alternatively, if designated in the sale con¬tract, a Florida attorney may escrow the funds.
