Casual Friday

After putting on my gorilla suit this morning I realized I had forgotten something.

what was it?

Oh yeah, this is casual Friday.

Well I'm already dressed. I know what I'll do , I'll just act very casual today.

But then that little voice sprang up in my head and told me not to casually go about my business.

This is a tough market and I have to take all of this very seriously... So seriously, that smiling is frowned upon. Good, It's raining outside. Just the damper I need.

I was getting ready to leave the house, when I thought I saw the dog smiling, and I told him to wipe that smirk off his face.

This is a serious work day.

No monkeying around. They are going to respect me because in a sea of casualness, the lone ranger is in a suit working diligently with his nose to the grindstone. 

I almost made a clean break when I was stopped by my wife.

She said "have a great day" and gave me a smooch.

At that moment my attitude changed. I was going to smile regardless of the market or the rain. I'm not going to take myself too seriously. And in spite of the market and the rain, it is going to be a great day. I was going to have a little fun at the office catching up with some of my clients.  Maybe I'll have time this weekend for a little monkey business.
