Show my house, Craiglist Ad! Too good to be true!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Turn-Key Properties LLC, Missouri and Kansas Real Estate

This one should definitely make the best of Craigslist.

I want someone for $150.00 to show my house and select a renter based on your perception of their character! I will send you the keys and you just find me a renter!

Gotta read the whole thing!

Wow...that's pretty scary on many levels.  Although on a side note, I very much love to read the Best of Craig's list.  There are some very entertaining characters on that site.

Are you sure this is legitimate?  There is yet another Nigerian scam going that rents houses, asks for you to send them money and they'll send you the keys.

Seriously - I WOULD take the job.... not just for filthy lucre either, but as long as owner info is legitimate and verifiable and he signs a leasing agreement which he'd have to pay an additional mls listing fee.... I'D TAKE IT ON!  I happen to have desperate out of town owners who just cannot tend to their property, so they hire us.

Mrs. Rice, I would consider it, but knowing the area that fee would not even cover the leasing fee let alone the monthly management cost. I don't do just leasing. it is all too apparent, they are looking for bottom dollar services. That is not what I do.

Justin, nice to hear from you again. I am in the process of reevaluating our fee structure. Seems our old structure penalized owners of higher end homes and encouraged the low end landlords to choose us. As I have been turning down hundreds of low end leads, I decided to negotiate lower percentages on upper end property.

Eric, I didn't even try, I did; however encourage her to at least try to get some hungry real estate agent to do the work. I also explained to her some of the possible problems she might have by using an uneducated person to show real estate.
