Today, May 1, 2009, starts another year of water restrictions in Austin, TX.

If your address is an ODD number, you can water on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

If your address is an EVEN number, you can water on Thursdays and Sundays.

Absolutely NO watering between the hours of 10am-7pm.

There are many fines the city can give out if you're caught breaking rules.  The rules include watering on your specific days, but also if they see leaks in your equipment or watering your driveway or the street instead of your lawn, you cann be fined.

No, no one likes these restrictions, and no one likes brown yards, but they are necessary.

One exception is for new homes and new landscaping.  If your lawn and landscaping is new, you are allowed to water until roots take place, but don't take advantage of this as we all need to share the water!

Oh no, water restrictions and we're only at May. Central TX has been harder hit with the drought conditions.

Hi Donna

I can relate to the water restrictions, we have them here in South Florida.

Good luck and success.

Gary, I know!  I don't remember them starting this early in Dallas.

Joseph, That sounds about right.

Lou, Thanks and to you too.

Water restrictions already?  We have not had that in North Texas... not yet anyway.  You would figure with all the rain you talked about last week that you would have plenty of lake water by now.

This wouldn't fly on my street. We'd have lookouts, neighbors in trees, police scanners and someone on the inside to help us out. We love green grass in Cypress Texas. Austin should just take water from San Marcos.. DRILL BABY DRILL!

This blog is to help educate Buyers, Sellers and even other Realtors across the country.  Each market is different and the way Real Estate is done is different.  Austin Real Estate is completely different than Dallas, California and Florida and everywhere else in between.  Some times there will be other things besides real estate as I like to rant and rave as much as the next!!  Come back often!
