The Bull Hockey Excuses While Parked on Hope Street

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

We KNOW that a real estate transaction will ALWAYS have glitches and bumps and rolls and turns. Right? There are no two real estate transactions alike and the whole concept is to keep learning through each. Right?  Real Estate Professionals and all involved in the transaction have patience, understanding and the knowledge to guide their frustrated clients from beginning to end. Uh Huh.

Little do they know how much we are doing behind the scenes to make sure everything is moving along in a timely manner according to the timeline in our contract.  Do they know that we are doing our best to ensure that they will be moving on to the next chapter in their lives as soon as the sale records?

I'm sure they do. Right. It does not ease the frustration when it is being held up by the lengthy VA Appraisal Process. And it adds fuel to an already burning fire of stress when the Governor imposes a 3 Friday a month furlough with no pay for state government workers.  Yes, it includes our Bureau of Conveyances that will take up to XXX amount of days to record the docs AFTER the loan funds and escrow gets the docs over to their office.

We remain patient because we know that this is the only transaction this will ever happen to. Right. We remain patient because our clients have been staying in a hotel for two months now....AND they have two children in that one hotel room besides. Right.

Bull Hockey. Wrongo. Doubt It.

I don't want to hear that "now it will get better" because the refi's are slowing down. What about my clients NOW? I don't want to hear that VA is the only 100% financing loan out there so my clients should be grateful they even got a loan. I don't want to hear the excuses for later.

I DO want to hear that you all are doing everything you can to ensure that my clients are never put through the ringer with unnecessary delays.

I WISH.

I HOPE.

"Stuff" Happens.

It seems banks do not want to hire additional temporary employees to sell their forclosed properties.

Demos: Not just the banks and foreclosures. It's all over the country no matter what type of loan or property.

Please tell me that you've gotten it out of VA appraisal review.. (Mine took 3 full days AFTER the appraisal finally came back to the loan officer)

Sally being busy is no excuse for not taking care of things in a timely manner, and treating every transaction like it is the only one you have.  Every client, and every transaction deserves that from us, and it is up to us to make the time to handle each and everyone like that no matter how busy we are.

Katerina: The whole thing is this one I'm currently in ...is not a short sale...

George: I agree. Otherwise, get some help.

Woo Hoo, A new day for me and trying to get back in the rhythm. This post like many others on this topic resonates and yet this lousy process continues with just us talking. Your testimony in this post picks up yet another of the problems that prevents the consumer from enjoying the "bundle of rights" with home ownership. That being their ability to consummate the purchase of it.

We are challenged more today than anytime I remember in the past!  It's not easy!  On the other hand, If it was easy ... they wouldn't need us!  Great post!

Sally, when a company is in the service business, service is supposed to come first. I am not buying this bull. I have to get my work done in a timely fashion, and there is only one of me.

Most important, if the banks and federal goverment want to move the market along, then move it along. Walk the walk.

I am certain that this problem would be resolved if there were more people hired, if there was better training, if if if. Just don't blow smoke up .... nevermind. I need to not go there. :(

Lisa: You are soooo right. It's like taking one step forward only to take 10 back....through the 'other's whom our clients lives...are in their hands.

Andrea: I totally am with you. I try so hard to be patient and keep a positive outlook. How can one remain positive when so many negatives keep popping up?

There's always a ton of behind the scenes work in any transaction. Lately everyone we have done seems to be delayed because of lenders or any other number of issues, but that's just the way to cookie crumbles sometimes and it does get frustrating once and a while.
