Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone - AKA Going Out On a Limb...

By
Home Inspector with Complete Home Inspections, Inc. TN Lic#050
Today, I am moving into my new offices which is somewhat of a paradigm shift in lieu of today's economic market. Having an office, other than my home office, has been an item that has been on my vision board for quite some time. Today it has become my reality.

As I start start moving in the boxes and setting up my new digs, I looked around and realized that my feng had shuied, my ying had yanged, and my chi was going chi-ching as I doled out the dollars. When many folks are downsizing, why would anyone be taking on added expense in todays economy?

A tree cannot be a home for the birds or give us reprise from the sun's rays on a hot day, unless it stretches toward the sun. As independent businesses, we cannot grow unless we too stretch ourselves. Just like the journey of a thousand miles begins with that first step, the growth of your vision begins by stepping out of your zone of comfort. There is a lot to be said about the biology of belief, what do you believe?

Have a Great Day, Y'all... ;-)

As you know, i also decided to move to an office, and so far i would say that it's been a great change. The biggest change for me, is a separation of work and home. I had been working 24/7, and now, I leave the office, and usually stay off the computer (you may have noticed fewer blog post). It gives me time to relax.

Good for you!  I know you will do great!  I agree it is risky in todays market, but great things happen when you take some risk too!  Go for it!

Good luck Michael.  You'll do great, probably much better than you expect!  I have found that people who make the commitment you are making typically do better in their business.  I know I do.  The synergy created working around other serious minded people will help you to achieve more than you can imagine.

Michael, all the best to you in your new office environment.  There is much to be said to work from your home office but an office or work space away from home changes the perspectives and dynamics.  Good Luck!

Thinking small breeds small results. Sounds as if you're on track for the "big time."

Michael good luck with having a new office, if that is your desire go for it. I liked when I moved home from the office as I didn't spend much time there and was alwayls in the field. It just meant an extra stop each evening before my hour drive home. Both Ceil and I office from home and we love it; she was the first to do so with her recruiting business. When necessary she interviews out of Executive Suites depending on which city she has to go to for whatever project she is working.

Be sure to show us some photo's. Have a good day.
